Cheery spot for hearty portions of meatloaf & other American comfort food in an old-school setting.

It was our first time there. This was the best breakfast we’ve had in a long time. Fresh, cooked to order, perfect home fries, great options. Atmosphere classic Portlandia. We’ll be back!
Second visit proved the goodness of the first. Excellent food, service, atmosphere.
Third visit December 13, Saturday. We got there early and I was able to get good photos. We love it and will be back! It’s quite a ways from home, and worth the drive.

We just arrived from San Diego, Ca. Looking for something local for lunch… we find this neighborhood restaurant… Skavone’s… look vintage… clean and nice… but surprise… everything, every bite was a delightful surprise of flavor… the short ribs, the mac and cheese (wow)… the meat loaf… really if you are in Portland… don’t miss this jewel for your palate…

This is a wonderful restaurant. Service is friendly and quick, everything is reasonably priced, and it’s also delicious. We got two entrees,a beer, and a soda for less than $50 and we still had leftovers. My only complaint is that they have a line or waiting list when they are busy!

While the food was decent, the service unfortunately fell short. Our server (lady with black hair, tattooed arms) was quite dismissive; she dropped the check and receipt at our table without a word or a smile. We also had quite a bit of food left over, but she never offered a box or asked if we needed one.

Best meatloaf anywhere around. So tasty and fresh! Also loved the sautéed veggies and delicious mashed potatoes. I drove down from Vancouver and glad I did! Excellent service as well. Let’s fill this local restaurant!!!

Absolutely stellar! My brother and I came here and split a handful of different things, and we were both thrilled with it. Had an awesome Burger, absolutely fantastic meatloaf and possibly the best macaroni and cheese I’ve had in years. The owner or manager was very friendly, the place was clean, and you get a ton of food. I will certainly come back and try a few more things. Their chicken and waffles sounds fantastic, although it’s only available during breakfast hours.

All roads lead back to Scavone’s for me. It’s so good. I keep meaning to get the meatloaf but beat salad is just too good to pass up!!Amazing- never disappoints! Such a great neighborhood spot for dinner and drinks. I’ve had almost everything on the menu and it’s all been great. Excellent value and friendly fast service completes the trifecta.
My favs: Ribs, fried chicken, beet salad and Shirley’s Manhattan!

Easy to spot on corner of Division & 41st. Friendly waitstaff, attentative owner, average inside decor. I ate here for lunch. I ordered the fish n chips halibut: 2 small pieces for $15. A little expensive for what you got. The dinner menu was only $0.50 more for the same portion. Large drink selection. Open space.
