Wow, What an experience! This place is absolutely incredible and I’m not surprised that they’ve been holding onto their Michelin star for so long! The way that the chefs work together and move around was so seamless and they all carry themselves with such a great attitude and they explain each dish in such great detail! I tasted things that I could never have imagined putting together but the way they set everything up is so amazing and it makes me want to learn more about their process! I can’t wait to experience this wonderful place again.

Came here for our anniversary dinner and had a grand time. We knew our experience would be a little different than a typical fine dining restaurant because I read some reviews. The music wasn’t crazy loud like people were making it seem and honestly, I really enjoyed the playlist. It was cool to be able to walk through the kitchen and see the kitchen at work. The food was really good and we left full. BYOB was nice and it was also nice getting bumped up to an earlier reservation day of. Definitely recommend visiting Schwa

My husband and I came out for a date night and the restaurant did not disappoint. The food and alcohol pairings were divine. But what we loved most was the presentation of the courses and the culinary creativity these chefs wanted to share with us. Watching art come to life in food is exactly what makes this place special.

WAY late in posting this from last spring … Schwa was absolutely spot on for what I expected – a laid back service experience with the kitchen doing the food running, byob, casual interior with dressed up patrons.
It really was a stripped down experience built around a passion for amazing food.
The interior is small, and if your bring a couple bottles of wine you’ll have to find a place around you to keep them until you are ready to open them.
The food was incredible and playful, big and nuanced flavors that crossed the gamut in presentation and texture. Modern/contemporary cuisine with a set tasting menu that was so good and fun we are definitely coming back for more.

I’ve been lucky enough to eat at many Michelin-starred and fine dining restaurants over the last 10 years. Schwa is now my favorite of them all. If Michelin stars are awarded on food and food alone, this should be a 3 star. It’s probably the most eclectic and unique menus I’ve seen. The music is loud and fun which is a welcome change from other fine dining spots. The only thing that feels luxury about Schwa is the food–that’s a good thing in my opinion. Thanks to the staff for a fun and memorable anniversary dinner for me and my wife!

With it’s unusual style, Schwa has put a little more fun in the fine dining scene. From the BYOB policy, loud(ish) background music and a simple service, Schwa marches to a different beat. Don’t let these quirky traits fool you. This is a solid Michelin star restaurant. Every dish was plated perfectly and the deep, carefully melded flavors and textures are exactly what you would expect from one of the best restaurants in the city.

Food is meant to be enjoyed but food can also be an experience and I have never been anywhere that did this quite as well as Schwa. Every dish was both beautiful and delicious and you could see the intentionality behind every decision. I particularly loved both the wagyu and the quail which were probably the best meats I’ve ever had.
As far the experience itself, I can acknowledge it’s not for everyone but it was certainly for me. The music is loud but not overwhelming and I felt like they were playing one of my playlists. Really I just had a lot of fun dining here. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday experience and hopefully I can come back for another special occasion soon.

Really small restaurant with minimal decor and generic furniture to really hone in on what you came here for: the food.
The chefs are your servers and you’ll hear them running in and out of the kitchen to cook and then serve you the most decadent bite of raviolo to the most amazing fish you’ll ever have.
From the foie gras ice cream to the parmigiana choco taco, there are innovative dishes that don’t border on the absurd.
And I very often dream of that sablefish.

Enlightening dinning experience!
The Staff is dope and being served by the chefs was cathartic.
BYOB will forever be my favorite way to do a tasting menu. It was such a great break from the norm.
Food was unique and felt like art on a plate. More like street wear got turned into a Michelin dish. Fan-freakin-tastic
As a customer I always want to feel as apart of the place I’m eating at as possible. I want to feel served, I want to feel the passion, and when I go to a place like Schwa I never want to question whether or not I enjoyed my time. I want to be on the car ride after eating picking apart each dish, each flavor, the presentation, the atmosphere, just because of how fantastic the experience was. Schwa was this but also left me inspired to create and be my best self. Which was a unique feeling I have never gotten from a dinner.

While the food was good, The atmosphere was terrible. It was dark and extremely loud. My husband and I sitting across one another couldn’t hear eachother . We requested that they turn it down a notch, all they did was smile and ignore us. Then while the music was playing, the chefs come out to announce the long list of ingredients in each course. Gosh! That was too much. Would
never go back. There are tons of good restaurants serving superb food with friendly staff and great atmosphere.
