Schnitzels is a warm, welcoming gastropub blending the bold flavors of Central Europe with the laid-back charm of Long Island. Located in the heart of Stony Brook Village, we serve elevated pub fare with a German twist—think crispy chicken schnitzel, bratwurst platters, and seasonal comfort food made from scratch.
Our rotating taps feature German and local craft beers served by the liter, half-liter, or in our iconic beer boots, alongside a curated wine list and creative cocktails. Whether you’re here for trivia night, live music, or just a cold drink and great food with friends, Schnitzels is the place to kick back, raise a stein, and stay a while.

I had the absolute best time at Schnitzels for their karaoke brunch. Everyone was in ugly sweaters, singing, dancing, drinking, and eating seriously delicious brunch food, the energy was just so fun. We ended up moving over to the bar afterward because the staff was amazing. They were so welcoming and genuinely fun to hang out with that we felt like part of the crew by the end of it.
I’d recommend this place to anyone in the area. This was my first visit and it has already become my favorite restaurant on Long Island. Truly such a great experience.

I recently moved back from Spain and have been coming to Schnitzels for a few months now and I am thoroughly impressed every time. The staff is beyond friendly and makes me feel at home whenever I come. The decor is so European and brings me home each time. My favorite dishes are the wurst platter, the wiener schnitzel and the apple strudel. I have introduced all of my neighbors there as well. I recently discovered they have music bingo on Monday nights and that made everything better. We had the best time singing and dancing along with the host Casey. if you haven’t been here, you are missing out. Truly a hidden gem right in Stony Brook Village.

I had an incredible experience at Schnitzels. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated right away. The menu has so many unique options, and everything we ordered was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The drinks were just as impressive, with plenty of choices and excellent presentation. We happened to come on a night with live music, which really made the evening special without being too loud to enjoy conversation. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly cared about making sure we had a great time. It’s rare to find a place that nails food, drinks, and atmosphere all at once, but Schnitzels does exactly that. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

My family and I absolutely love Schnitzels. We began coming here a few months ago and consistently return. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and the staff really does a phenomenal job. We typically come in on Thursday nights, where we love being served by Casey. She is also the manager and does an immaculate job. Thanks to the crew at Schnitzels for giving my family and I a great local place to enjoy a delicious meal. Cheers!

I take my chicken wings very seriously, and the wings at schnitzels are my favorite in town. I love coming here for events (like Monday trivia) to just have some beers and appetizers at the bar. The staff and atmosphere always makes me feel at home. Highly recommend to any locals to check it out if you haven’t already!

Uuuuhhg I hate writing negative reviews but this experience was ridiculous. Simple. I called in an order for a pastrami sandwich and cup of onion soup. I picked it up. No sweat. Got it home, opened my hard earned dinner, and REALLY??? When you think of a NY pastrami sammi you think you’ll bite into some MEAT. There was no more than 4 thin slices on a burnt tasting roll. It was awful and I felt insulted by a sandwich. The soup was good except for the solid glop of cheese. Sadly, I will never come back and I’m a local.

Meh. Disappointed all around at our first experience here last year. Took my child for dinner on a week night. It wasn’t terribly busy while we stood at the host podium for probably 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Once we were seated, we were tucked into a small table for two on the side of the bar. Someone took our order after another long wait, brought out our food eventually and didn’t return. I had to hunt a team member down to get the bill when we were done because no one seemed to be paying attention. We ordered the kids hot dog meal, which was terribly overcooked to the point that the hot dog was crunchy and shriveled. The 5 or 6 pieces of meat, at best, in my goulash tasted good while I was surprised they were so skimpy on the meat. I am reading that some people compliment the large portions here. We didn’t see any large portions in the meals that we were served. I also felt somewhat uncomfortable the whole visit like we were a bother to them for being there. We will not return.

Schnitzels is consistently good, and the service matches the food. The servers and food runner are amazing. Cris brought out our plates and gave a quick but helpful description of each one. He seemed confident and knowledgeable about the menu, which made everything feel well put together. Small details like that don’t go unnoticed.
