Schmidty’s might’ve just ruined every other burger joint for me
Roman and I rolled in just looking for a quick bite… left in a full-blown food coma. Burgers? Unreal. Chicken fingers? Crispy perfection. Onion rings? Dangerous. Fries? Gone before they even cooled off (thanks, toddler reflexes). And that ranch… I’m not saying it’s life-changing, but I did consider buying a to-go cup of it.
So yeah, Schmidty’s is officially our secret spot… but don’t tell anyone, I don’t want a line next time

Not only at there burgers some of the near in town but their fries and yogurt had their fish and chips. One again very good and service. Is excellent for a restaurant that you order at counter. We hand bananas foster forgot to take a picture but it was delicious even to go.

My Ruben was amazing. Bread didn’t get soggy. BFF got a Mushroom swiss. I’d order those mushrooms by themselves. Food is amazing. Ppl are nice. Definitely going back.

Alright, buckle up buttercups, because you’re about to hear from a real authority on the matter. As a Schmidty by birthright (yes, it’s a tough life, constantly upholding the family name in burger excellence), I approached Schmidty’s Burgers with a healthy dose of optimism and an even healthier appetite. Let me tell you, the “Schmidty Burger” isn’t just a namesake; it’s a culinary coronation. This isn’t your average patty palace – this is burger royalty.
The fries? Forget about them being a sidekick. These crispy, golden batons deserve their own standing ovation. A solid 10 out of 10 – they’re the kind of fries that make you question all your past fry-related decisions.
But hold. The. Phone. While the burger and fries were a triumphant duet, the Pineapple Upside-down dessert… well, that was a full-blown operatic masterpiece. Life-changing isn’t hyperbole; it’s a documented fact in my newly revised personal history. Seriously, if the rest of their dessert menu even whispers the same level of deliciousness, skipping it should be classified as a misdemeanor, possibly a felony in states with good taste.
Turns out, my previous Coeur d’Alene visits tragically landed on Mondays, a day the Schmidty’s reserves for… well, not blessing us with their presence (Cause they are closed on Mondays). Consider this my official vow: I will sooner attempt to swim the length of Lake Coeur d’Alene in January than darken the door of this fine city on another Schmidt-less Monday.
So, in conclusion, fellow food enthusiasts and Burger fanatics, if you find yourself in Coeur d’Alene, make a pilgrimage to Schmidty’s. Order the Schmidty Burger or the Mrs. Schmidty (obviously), worship at the altar of their fries, and for the love of all that is delicious, DO NOT – I repeat – DO NOT skip dessert. Your taste buds will send you a thank you note written in pure joy. You’re welcome.

A destination classic+more burger place. Just ask for what you want; they were quite flexible! I like double pickle, grilled onions, on sourdough. No extra charge.
And the sweet potato fries… Best Ever.
My sweetie’s fish’n’chips also wonderful.

Ok… we went to our favorite hamburger joint, Schmidty’s Burgers!! Their burgers are top notch and the quality of their burgers/ toppings are in a class of their own! The ownership and staff are always accommodating and cordial, you just have to speak up a bit because it’s hard for them to hear you in the back while they are preparing a little piece of heaven on a bun! For those of you who didn’t already know, they are in a new building of of Sherman and 15th. They moved because their old place burnt down few years back.
We are so happy to support this local business/ mom & pop restaurant. Go check them out!!!

Had our first visit there today, and it did not disappoint!! Super good burgers and fries. I had the bacon cheeseburger, and let me tell you, it should be called the life changing bacon cheeseburger! The bacon on that baby is *life changing*. I don’t think I have EVER had bacon that good. It was thick cut, and was so smokey, it blended perfect with the burger.
I need to know where this bacon comes from

Sooooo yummy! The loaded garlic fries are to die for!!! The food is very reasonably priced— especially compared to the portions. I have yet to have a burger that disappointed me. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend

We tried their sandwiches, burgers and fish and chips and everything was good.
Staff were nice but there was not much of a service.
Atmosphere is a bit cold too.
But again food was good in good portions and reasonable price

Oh man, I had high hopes, and maybe it’s a little my own fault. I heard that they had a decent burger, so I decided to check it out. Well, the burgers we averaging $14 bucks, and after having a great 8 dollar burger at surf burger, or a 4 dollar awesome burger at Hudsons, I just couldn’t do it, but I saw a Ruben!!! So I skipped the burger, as I have been on the hunt for the great Ruben in CDA. Anyway, I should have gone with the expensive burger. Or nothing. I added some rings instead of fries and was not too happy. It came out very fast, took a bite of onion ring, and burned my tongue on hot grease, a lot of hot grease. Took a bite of the Ruben, and it was a lot of too hot grease as well. In fact, it was all so greasy. The Ruben looked like it maybe had Swiss and American cheese?? The rye was pretty bland and hard to tell it was rye, although it was soaked with grease so…?? The awesome part was that it had lots of pastrami, I ate most of it just cause the pastrami was good. The saurkraut was ok. Never tasted the dressing. I had to towel dry both the rings and the bread of the sandwich. So I guess I messed up by not getting the burger, and Cole slaw. That would have to be less greasy. Oh yeah. The lady who took my order was super nice, and the place was nice and clean inside.
