I remember coming here as a child with my family many times. It was my Uncle’s favorite place and he would come here almost every Sunday and every Wednesday night. It is not easy to find a truly good crab imperial served inland, however I remembered the crab imperial from Schmeck’s Villa as a kid. It is THAT good! I was surprised and incredibly happy to find they still serve this delicious dish. Amazingly the quality is just as good as I remember and they have another hard to find favorite of mine which is escargot, and it is served correctly. Everything on the menu that family and friends have ordered is high quality as well. The desserts are incredible! I especially love the creme brulee. We will be back again and again. Some of the servers even remember my uncle! It is not often you can find a place that has stayed in business this long and maintains the same high quality food and service. I’m grateful to remember and find this restaurant again after so many years. Everything is fresh, the chefs are truly talented and the servers are professional as well as friendly. The atmosphere is for sure vintage however I appreciate that and it is a clean place. Sometimes the bar gets busy however if you are waiting on paying your bill (as I have seen mentioned in a few reviews) just go pay at the bar, the bartender always makes time for this and it is easy to do instead of waiting on a server on a busy night.

We always enjoyed coming to this establishment everytime family was in town and in the past almost every week or more. Their key to sucess was repeat customers; often several times per week. Prices are inexpensive, drinks are excellent. It was our high class Fegley’s restaurant with tablecloths. Unfortunately, we rarely visit. Food quality just isn’t there. I think the clincher amoung other regulars was the chicken cordon bleu which was nothing more than the two in a box from the dollar store and seemed microwaved. It was shamefully bad. We really loved coming here, but they have to reassess their menu. Veal scallopini is quickly thawed veal with plain tomato sauce and quickly fried raw onion, the fried eggplant is still good, but it seems like they’ve lost something. Many things I’m sure are still acceptable, but from a former frequent flyer, the establishment is no longer top of mind.

Homemade food, simple menu with great options and great prices. The staff are friendly with a nice clientele too. Relaxed atmosphere where you can dress up a bit, but not so fancy you’d feel uncomfortable in casual dress. We’ll be back for sure!

Food is good, service was good, everything was good. The decor feels a bit dated, although clean my table didn’t rock at all. I had the shrimp scampi over angel hair pasta with black olives. It was good but needed a bit more of kick for me. Maybe a little more garlic….. I had an average salad, with blue cheese dressing, that was fine. The fried eggplant was done well, not greesy and the only issue was two pieces and no more. I started with a cup of lobster bisque that was very good, although the temperature approached lava when it came out, but still tasted great. I was able to sample the prime rib, and it was flavorful and tender. Although it came out medium instead of the ordered medium well. The mashed potatoes were flavorful with a good consistency. I finished off with an order of cream brulai that had a good crust and creamy texture. We entered and stood at the front door for a couple of minutes but a very friendly bar tender came over to seat us and wished is well as we left. I can’t say as anything was bad but I left under whelmed. The prices aren’t bad but you can’t escape thinking this establishment is more geared towards an older crowd.
Some TV’s played a few sports channels and the tea was very sweet… Almost too sweet…
The bar seemed inviting for a drink and although I do love nostalgic feeling places I’m not sure I truly cared for this one.

A french onion soup had a thin layer of cheese. The broth tasted bland and there wasn’t a lot of onions in it. My veal piccata was uneventful I’ve never had fried veal and the spaghetti was very bland and unseasoned with a taste of lemon in it, which I didn’t squeeze to get in the rating

Our family and friends love visiting for more than the great food and perfect drinks but for the iconic rat pack feel the place has including comfy swivel chairs.

Calm, quiet atmosphere with an older crowd , a fun bartender, and amazing food for a good price. I would suggest the prime rib and finish with their chocolate cake

Great food served in a quiet atmosphere. We had not been back since covid and was glad to see the place was as good as ever. We definitely will be making Schmecks a regular stop for great food and pleasant dining.

Never ate here. When I was here it was a Sunday morning on October 24, 2021. One reviewer said that the decor is dated. Well, it looks like something out of the 1940’s which is cool. Even the sign is vintage. Cant’ figure out who the lady is on top of the sign. My Mamma always told be “Son, don’t be a schmeck, be a mench.”

Pleasantly surprised! Lived in the area for about 20 years and never ate here until recently. The atmosphere is nice, but nothing special. However, the service was exceptional and the food was really good. The pricing for everything was beyond reasonable. I’m not sure what took us so long to try this place. We will definitely make this a regular stop for dinner moving forward!
