Everything we visit the city we come come here. The Italian Beefs are the best!! Definitely a 9/10 on the beefs. 8/10 the foot long slice if pizzas. Every item on the menu are a 7/10 min. To 10/10 max. My photo does not justice on what it looks like or taste like. They offer home made peppers and sweet peppers as well but the home made peppers are amazing never had anything like it. They have clean bathrooms and slot machines with beer sold there as well. They it i promise you won’t be disappointed!!The Italian ice are home made and are a mazing and you can also take home and order out for catering on the beef and pizzas!

I was blown away by my recent visit. I lived in Cicero for many years in 1993-2009. This was not that Scatchells I left. But was happy to see updates to restaurant. And it still thriving.
Best Food hands down. From thier Italian beefs,Chicago Dogs, & pizza. Not to mention thier Italian ice. This place hosted many family functions like birthdays and holidays. I even wanted them to cater my wedding. So please if in area Stop in you will not be disappointed!

Got the Italian beef dipped with hot peppers with fries and a drink. Beef was good but to me it lacked some flavor. Hot peppers we definitely home made which i liked as well but felt like they also lacked flavor. While I can’t rave about the beef I will say it was good, a good average style Italian beef sandwich. I would come back if I was in this area.

Today I went to Scathell’s in Cicero. I went with the Italian beef with sweet peppers and an order of fries. The fries were hot out of the oil and salty, delicious. The beef was cut super thin and the seasoning was delicious. The bread was just soaked in beef juice and it held together all the way until the last bite. Next time I go there I am going to get a side of that beef juice and drink it like hot chocolate. Really good beef and the seating area seems to be brand new with plenty of room. Good joint.

I come and purchase a xl icee and ask for it to be layered and it’s always a problem! Then I explain a xl comes with 4 flavors and if you get four different flavors then they do four different layers. I get 2 flavors but ask for it to be layered in fours and I’m told it’s to busy or we don’t do all that. I’m not sure why it’s a problem if I’m paying for a xl that comes with four flavors and I’m only asking for two. My recent visit we had the same problem and I guess the guy was being smart by only putting all one flavor in one of my cups. Shame on him and this establishment for treating their customers this way!

Scatchell’s restaurant feels new and the inside nice and clean. Parking is plentiful, however next to the tracks. The service was great and efficient. The dining area is small, with a bit of counter space and a back video gaming area. Ordered a beef and Hot dog and fries. Scatchell’s dipped beef was shaved thin and provides a good amount of meat in the sandwich. The bun held and was topped with Hot giardinera. Sandwich was tasty the dog was just as good. Chicago style with sport peppers, It wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. The fries were the saving grace with plenty of crunch and salt.

Many people forget the “c” in Scatchell’s so was a bit more scrolling to find this place if searching “satchells”, but the food here is worth the visit in the town of Cicero.
The easy-dipped italian beef with giardeneria is arguably some of the best in Chicagoland. Its peppery, spiced, fatty and has great chew that is all held together in an french roll!
Also ordered a NY sized slice of pepperoni and sausage which was very good on a chewy soft crust. I would have preferred a more well-done crust but ingredients were fresh and flavorful.
As their sign says “beef & pizza”; both must be tried!! The owner and staff was friendly and place was super clean!! Definitely visit again to try their sides next time i am in the area.

I was served cold pizza hard crust unrelated cheese after 4 that tasted as if it was left from old pizza. Do better. I’v like Scatchells since highschool. Each slice should be fresh & tasty ok
