The bar is kinda mixed signals, it’s like a sports bar had a baby with a marble countertop. The LOOK of it doesn’t speak to the vibe, which is a neighborhood hang.
The mozzarella sticks were tasty and the shrimp was fried beautifully. A+ bar food.
The question below is asking about group size it’s a bar it hold many people
Dan the owner is pretty much to himself, he may be perceived as a grump because he doesn’t smile much, yet he’s real chill and mainly hyper focused on doin his job because the bar gets packed and it’s really only 2 main people that are there running everything. Same with Danny, don’t get on his bad side, he ain’t nice, he’s kind—kinda chill, kinda asshole lol (respectfully).
I gave 4 stars for food because I only eat the same thing every time I go outside—fries lol It’s affordable, fulfilling, not too unhealthy, and easy to make. If the bar you go to can’t make good potatoes, leave. lol I don’t drink much, yet the ginger ale is good, the beers and drinks are affordably priced unlike some places.
Now, I recently stopped going around August/September because of the regulars that come here. I’ve always gone on the same days with the same people, experiencing the same delightful experience and never had an issue. So, I figured I’d go on a different day and to see what it was like, smh.—-triggering experiences listed below:
– Different female bartender: Rude, loud, drinking on job, didn’t keep bar clean, favoritism, overly sexual
– The bartender (above) has a sister who is a “regular” and called her out when she was in appropriately touching the security and made him uncomfortable, so I said something. To which she tried to switch her attention stating, “Oh, I want you though!” To which I expressed out loud and to the bartender and security, “Yall see this right? The camera is working right? If you touch me, everything that happens next will be on camera.” — She didn’t touch me, nobody kicked her out yet that incident was triggering in many layers.
– Wednesday’s Open Mic Comedy nights: beware of the “jokes”. Worst joke between 2022-2023 regarding a BABY being sexually assaulted—I haven’t seen that ”comedian” come back SINCE he told that joke, yet he most definitely is still doing ”comedy”. He wasn’t a good comedian or bad one until he brought it up. Pondering if he tells the same joke at different comedy clubs or on screen? Pondering on if he was telling his own story of what happened to him? *Noted—(noticed he didn’t laugh afterwards)
– Wednesday nights- October/November 2024— one ”comedian” started what I like to call, “Racism Night”. Already in a low mood and just wanted to be, yet was fuming with irritation when they started disrespecting another fellow artist, Orange Piano (if you know, then you know. If not, get familiar), right when he was with his lady. Really hitting home about his culture as a Jamaican man (correct me if I’m wrong if you see this lol). Yea, he laughed and I chuckled, yet I don’t believe either enjoyed the ”joke” at all based on facial expression and body language. My back was turned as I listened to their night of back-to-back “jokes” that weren’t funny and just sounded intentionally hateful? Wonder if they’d say those jokes in Jamaica? Wonder if they’d say those jokes with more diverse cultures present?
– BRING BACK GOOD JOKES ON OPEN MIC COMEDY ON WED ️
– Monday Open Mics: 3/10– great instrumentalist. (Danny & Dan LOVE ACTUAL good music and artists)
If you go there, know what to expect: Great service, bad drunkies.
