We went here for dinner last Friday night. We had been to the other location previously, but it seems it is temporarily closed, so we end up here.
We called ahead and when we arrive, we were quickly seated. They started us off with some breadsticks and warm bread.
I had fried clam strips and Wife had baked stuffed shrimp. Both of our meals were good and as expected. We were served salad with our meals.
Our server was attentive and friendly, she did a great job.
This place matched the high standard their other location had set when we had gone there previously, which was awesome.
If you like seafood and don’t wanna drive to the shore, this is as good as it gets.

One of those places that you drive by and try to remember to go back to. Very unassuming but well worth the stop. I have been driving by for over 20 years and finally got to stop in. Not overly big but very comfortably sized to not be overly loud. Decor was perfect but I don’t feel overdone. I had the calamari appetizer and was impressed as some places almost always over cook it. The salad feeds two comfortably. Their house dressing is amazing. My entree was the Poseidon adventure with mussels, shrimp, clams, calamari, salmon, scallops and a lobster claw over linguine. Plentiful and amazing. My wife, who doesn’t like seafood, had the sirloin, while it was a touch over cooked she still enjoyed it. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Will definitely go again.

I have been coming here for years and it’s always a wonderful place to have a meal. The seafood is always cook well and their house salad that comes with most meals is by far one of the best. Last time I went I had the bouillabaisse which was delicious and full of flavor and I would recommend that to anyone who is a Seafood lover!!

Besides the delicious food the ambiance is very relaxing and you feel very at home. I normally sit at the bar when Lane is there and he is not just excellent at his job but helps make the experience of being at Saybrook more enjoyable.

So if you want a nice and quick night with a delicious dinner go to Saybrook.

If you want good seafood…. Let me say this again – if you want mouth-watering, perfectly cooked, wonderful portions of delicious seafood then look no further. I have been going here for like 25 years and I am never disappointed. The staff is phenomenal, the chefs are amazing … Everything is A1 on-point. PROVE ME WRONG.

Lane, the server, was exceptional. Very polite and attentive. Creamy garlic dressing was extremely good, especially dipping their sesame sticks into. My wife has the shrimp in lobster sauce (still drooling over the taste) and I had the sword fish steak. That was so tender and flavor was exceptional.

I’ve been going there since the mid 80’s. My favorite is the fish chowder with clear broth. I had scallops and unfortunately they weren’t cleaned properly. They were mostly sandy and after I couldn’t eat the 4th one, I shared some of my wife’s garlic spinach shrimp and pasta plate. The shrimp were a little tough and dried out/ mealy. May have been overcooked or sat too long. I had 2 crab cakes from the starter menu that were fantastic! My wife also had a shrimp cocktail, although it wasn’t very pleasing to the eyes. It was just a plated shrimp on some lettuce and a couple pieces of lemon and the shrimp were fresh and a cocktail sauce that was really good, nice after bite. No ice though to keep it chilled and just kinda thrown on the plate.
I was grateful our waitress had the $32 scallop plate comped.

Really love this place- on outskirts of town but great quality and service. Rustic/fish atmosphere like on a boat and very fast service. Extreme large portion sizes as we started off with garlic shrimp and Cole slaw, a shared salad (huge!!!), bread, and then finally our entrees. I buoyed salmon, seafood soup, and calamari. Really loved all of it as seafood was fresh and good quality. Defs recommend for seafood lovers as good price and really good

Excellent little seafood restaurant. Different types of seafood dishes including lobster, escargot, mussels, clams, different types of fish, and more. Great mix of fried, steamed, and prepared dishes. Also a land section for those who don’t like or may be allergic to seafood. Decent wine selection, sangria, and mixed drinks.

Amazing to find really good, fresh fish along with excellent service in middle of CT. Perfect place to enjoy a perfectly fried, Captains platter with scallops, cod, clam bellies, shrimp and calamari with a side salad and fries. Enjoyed meal on outside patio while cool, sun was out. Will return. Waitress was very attentive, checking to make sure we enjoyed meal. We also enjoyed a very creamy and tasty clam chowder and chicken wings.

Very good quality seafood comfort food dishes for the price given how hard it is to find reasonably priced restaurants in Connecticut. Cozy place with an abundance of buoys and maritime themed paintings and pictures to put you in the mood for cod, clams, shrimp and bouillabaisse… all of which were quite good. Service was friendly but a bit slow on a Saturday at 1:15 PM.
