I was recommended to try Sawatdee because their “spring rolls and peanut sauce are the best.” We went on a Monday afternoon, and it was almost empty. For 2 people–2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 1 drink, the total was $63 (not including tip.)

The good: The server was kind and attentive. I loved the lighting, music, and Thai decorations. Our entrees came very shortly after our appetizers, and the food was SO DELICIOUS. We loved everything, and we will be back for more!

The not-so-good: Since I ordered no shrimp with the spring rolls, I thought they’d replace it with more chicken, but sadly no… The tables were slightly sticky, and I wish I had asked them to wipe it down again.

This is the first time I have tried Sawatdee. A Maple Grove friend recommended this establishment and we were both pleased. We had choice of a lunch menu available weekday afternoons. I ordered the cashew stir-fry because I love water-chestnuts and it was very good at a decent price. The establishment has low lighting, music, and interesting decorative pieces throughout. And the staff was service oriented checking on us several times. Parking was very easy.

It is in the shopping mall area, so it’s very convenient for parking and for visiting other places before or afterward.

The spring roll is huge and fresh. The veggie dish is average, which is totally fine. The Thai noodles are very spicy, even for someone like me with a high tolerance for spice. I asked for a medium level, but it was still very spicy.

The server was very nice and welcoming. He asked us about our preferred spice level for each dish.

The place is spacious, but quite dark. It was hard for me to see the menu clearly, even though we had lunch there. However, the decor is very culturally rich.

This is at least the 2nd time I’ve been shorted. Only 2 of the 3 items I ordered arrived. When you attach the receipt, if you mark items off when you put them in the bag, this issue is EASILY preventable. Feeding my kids ⅔ of their dinner isn’t possible, so now I have to either cook, despite ordering out, or spend even more money & wait even longer.
(Hid name on receipt.)

In my opinion their quality of food has gone downhill. Pad Thai noodles (IMO) seemed hard compared to other times I’ve ordered. The holy basil, there was hardly any meat. Majority was veggies, and beef was hard. My daughter ordered the seafood delight and similar issues too (lots of veggies and little protein). The egg rolls, not my favorite. Reminds me of frozen egg rolls put into airfryer. The stuff wing and calamari was my favorite. It’s disappointing for a lot of money spent and food was not the greatest.

Great pad see ew,fresh spring rolls, Sue’s egg rolls, ginger stir fry, hubs loved the spicy noodles with beef. I also enjoyed hot green tea today. Server was very friendly. Could have used a refill on water, that was my only disappointment. Overall very good experience.

The food had a nice presentation but was not the best tasting. We ordered mild spice but didn’t expect the flavor to be so bland. Figured there would be more than to the flavor than just spice.

The thai tea caused two people at the table to have stomachaches. I didn’t order it, so my stomach was fine. The table had some sticky spots.

Pad See Ew noodles:
It was a little hard and too sweet.

Papaya Salad:
Didn’t have a lot of flavor, and it tasted too much like lemon. The peanuts were delicious in the dish!

Duck Curry:
The duck was good! It wasn’t dry and had very large cuts. The peas and carrots were typical frozen peas and carrots and didn’t taste great. The bell peppers were undercooked. The curry flavor was decent, but I was expecting something more and different.

Tom Yum soup (seafood combo):
There was a lot of seafood. This was probably the only dish that was worth the price because of the amount of seafood that was given, though Tom Yum was very generic and wasn’t not close to being a great Tom Yum. The shrimp was over cooked.

I and four other friends went there for lunch. We love Thai food so our standards and taste buds are pretty particular about Thai cuisine. For 5 people, we ordered Fried Chicken Wings, pork Pad Thai, pork Thai Fried Rice, the Holy Basil Supreme, and Tom Yum soup, out of which two of the entrees came with a side of rice each.

The Holy Basil Supreme was the performer of the day and the Tom Yum was a close second. The Pad Thai was good, however, the fried rice was actually disappointing. The portions were good for what we ended up paying!
