This little hole in the wall, the looks are deceiving from the outside. The interior is small but beautiful. The service was extremely fast. All the food arrived at the same time, that was the only issue I experienced. They have a large menu, appetizers, sushi, hibachi. They offer sushi raw, cooked and fried. We tried the Tokyo Roll-lobster salad and shrimp with a mango sauce, very delicious and I recommend this if you can’t do raw sushi. Although it isn’t cook in front of the hibachi is excellent. I will visit this restaurant again. I am eager to try different foods the offer. I highly recommend this restaurant.

At first we were looking for a full habachi grill (cooking in front of us) experience, however, this wasn’t it. But we were so hungry that we decided to stay. The food was great! It was prepared quicker than I expected, and it was delicious. We’re glad we stayed. The food was amazing. I think if they ever expanded the size of their restaurant, they could go with a full habachi grill experience. The food was definitely comparable.

We loved this place! We hadn’t had sushi in a while and haven’t tried much since moving to KC. All of our food was delicious. I don’t expect much from miso soup but I’d say it was the best I’ve ever had. We had some gyoza as well that was on. point. Great sear and great flavor. My only critique is the long wait on my Tokyo Roll, but I loved it. Great ingredients and I enjoyed the mango sauce. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. We’ll definitely be back!

Ambiance of the restaurant was amazing. Small and compact but it felt homey.
Service- our server was attentive and took care of us well
Food- For appetizers we had their shumai, soft shell crab and Tako-su (octopus in ponzu sauce). Shumai and soft shell crab were mid but wasn’t bad. Tako-su was my absolute favorite!
For main course I had their salmon, yellowtail and scallop sashimi and all tasted fresh and delicious! Last for dessert we had their pink lady roll (cheesecake fried sushi) which was pretty good!

Overall, we had a good experience! The food, ambiance and service was great!

We’ve lived here 20 years and just discovered this gem!! Adorable, cozy atmosphere, wonderful, friendly service and our rolls were to die for – and we eat a lot of sushi! Highly recommend the sweetheart roll and the KC roll. Can’t wait to come back.

Would not recommend. Food is ok, but I ordered a roll without wasabi sauce. Physically saw the item ready to bring to table, server tell sushi chef I didn’t want the sauce, watched chef wipe off the sauce and give me the roll. Entire roll tasted of wasabi. I would not recommend if you have allergies or specific needs.

Never ever again! Today was the first and last time I will ever eat food from this establishment. I ordered the “fantastic roll” and a side of rice in case I didn’t like the roll. I was so excited because I absolutely love sushi and haven’t had it in awhile. I decided to try this spot since its close to my job. Well the first bite I took I noticed it had a lake watery taste (I thought to myself that since it’s fish it’s probably nothing) well I was completely wrong. After eating a second piece I was sick to my stomach, the taste was so foul words can’t describe how disgusting it was. I flipped two of the other pieces of salmon over and sure enough it was completely discolored and had a thick layer of black stuff (I’m assuming might be mold). I’m extremely disappointed. All I can hope is that since this made me vomit I won’t get food poisoning.

Decided to try this place after seeing a lot of positive reviews. I wanted to try their hibachi but their sushi menu was very interesting. We ordered raw, cooked and fried sushi. Overall I felt the sushi tasted good, but probably not the best in town. Their fried sushi was way too chewy and pretty much didn’t feel like a sushi at all. I have to say their KC roll was very different and delicious, everyone loved that roll out of everything. Their soy sauce was way too salty in my opinion and their portion size does not do any justice to their high priced items. The waiter was very kind and helpful.

Excellent sushi restaurant set in an unassuming strip mall. Stumbled across it yesterday and decided to give it a try. The place is small so large groups may not be best. Service was fast and food delivered quickly. The fried calamari was great along with the Iron Man roll.
