Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5)
I recently visited Berco’s in CP and had a fairly average experience. While there were some high points, a few things left us disappointed—especially regarding their loyalty program.
The Food & Drinks
Mocktails: These were definitely the highlight! Well-balanced and refreshing.
Spring Rolls: Quite “normal.” They tasted like what you’d get at any other standard Chinese restaurant—nothing particularly special or “Berco’s signature” about them.
Platter: The quantity is impressive—there is a lot of food served—but the flavor was just okay. Similar to the spring rolls, the taste didn’t stand out from other mid-range restaurants.
Service & Rewards (Important!)
The biggest letdown was the Berco’s Rewards system. Even though we had earned points/rewards through their official program, this specific outlet informed us that we could not use them.
Pro-Tip: If you are planning to dine here specifically to redeem your Berco’s rewards, make sure to check with the manager before you order. It seems the redemption policies are inconsistent or restricted at this location.
Chillis cheese dimsums with Scallion sauce is amazing. Cheese butter pepper noodles and udon noodles are also good. Fruit beer I usually don’t like but the taste here was to my liking.
The music is there but doesn’t intrude the conversation, you can easily hear everything. The portions for the money are appropriate.
Only downside is if u r alone they serve bowls only till 7pm, they did make an exception for me on one occasion.
The service was efficient when we arrived at 7:00 PM, with the staff thoughtfully asking where to serve veg/ non-veg dishes. However, after 8:30 PM, the service felt rushed, and the staff started placing dishes on the table hastily. They also forgot to clear the table before serving the main course, which affected the overall dining experience a bit.
Things to keep in mind:
1. Since alcohol is served, it may not be the best choice if you’re bringing kids.
2. Avoid peak hours as there’s usually a long wait and the service quality tends to dip too.
My recent visit to Berco’s was quite underwhelming, both in terms of food and service. I ordered the Fiery Dumpling Soup, which had almost no flavor apart from an overpowering saltiness. The dumplings were broken and disintegrated into the broth, making the texture unpalatable and messy.
The service was extremely slow and inattentive. I waited for quite a while before finally having to ask the staff if they were even interested in taking my order. It felt like the staff was indifferent to the customers.
For takeaway, I ordered the Veg Manchurian Bowl and Hot Garlic Noodles. Surprisingly, the order came with no sauces or condiments—just two bowls tossed into a bag. The noodles were clumpy with barely any vegetables, and the Manchurian tasted stale, as if it was left over from the previous day. Both dishes were bland and unappetizing.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience with poor food quality and unprofessional service. Definitely not worth the money.
Every item on the menu are a must try.. We had Chicken Manchow Soup, Chilli Garlic Crispy Chicken, Chicken Spring Roll, Chicken Burnt Chilli Oil Dimsum, Chicken Chilli Garlic Fried Rice, Chicken Butter Pepper Garlic Noodles.. every item a must try and heavenly..
Quality and Hygiene at table, very high.. but smelly, unclean wash area and toilet..
One major disappointment is that they have discontinued their original menu in favor of a festive menu. Unfortunately, this means signature items like Dim Sum and Bowls, which are the main attractions for many regular visitors, are not available. If you’re a loyal patron, this could leave you feeling a bit let down.
Overall, it’s worth a visit for the vibe, but it might not fully meet expectations, especially for returning customers.
