Hi Im A Flying Person
The restaurant looks nice. The pizza is fine. We like the thin crust. But for the high price, the portion is very small. We ordered a chicken alla vodka pizza and the margherita pizza. There was little to no vodka sauce on the chicken alla vodka pizza, it was disappointing. But it didn’t taste bad. The margherita pizza tasted okay but it was very oily. Not a big fan. My boyfriend liked his margarita though. Overall the food is alright. This seems like the kind of place you would go to just for the drinks and not the food.

Everything about savoy was perfect. It was my first time trying fig pizza 10/10. Meatballs were cooked throughly, drinks were fire. Had to get another pizza to go. I also love how they package your leftovers

We visited Savoy in West Hartford for a casual afternoon lunch out, and overall, it was a good experience, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Food & Drinks:
We started with a “beer fight” (beer flight ), which was fun and offered a nice variety of local brews. The presentation was great, and it gave us a good sampling of what they had on tap.

The garlic bread came out as a small flatbread-style portion—more like a slim, mini pizza. The flavor was decent, but we expected something heartier or more traditional. It felt more like a side than a starter to share.

We ordered an arugula salad, which had a fresh base but felt incomplete. There were no nuts, fruits, or anything to give it contrast or texture—it lacked that special something to make it pop.

The Margherita pizza was classic and comforting. The crust was crisp and nicely charred, the sauce had a bright tomato flavor, and the cheese was well-balanced. It’s clear they know how to do their pizzas right.

Ambience & Service:
The space itself is trendy and warm, with a modern, urban feel. Service was friendly and timely, though not particularly memorable. The staff did check in occasionally but didn’t go out of their way to elevate the experience.

Overall:
Savoy is a solid spot if you’re looking for quality pizza and a laid-back vibe. They get the fundamentals right—especially with their pizza and beer—but a few small tweaks (like enhancing the salads, rethinking some starters, and fine-tuning the plating) could really elevate the dining experience. We had a good time and would come back, especially for the pizza, but there’s potential for more.

Those lemon garlic parmeson wings are on another level. We are still thinking about them days later.

Our server Melissa S was perfect. Super helpful and friendly.

Update: Been here 3 times in a month which is alot for us, but those wings are slammin’!

Pizza and cheese bread are great too.

I tried two of the most highly rated pies at Savoy Pizza — a pepperoni and a margherita — and my overall takeaway is that they’re… fine. Not bad, not exceptional, just solidly average.

The best way I can describe the experience: it tastes like pizza made by someone who studied great pizza from photos or travel and tried to recreate it. It’s competent and clearly well-intentioned, but it lacks the instinct and depth you get from places rooted in true pizza culture.

Compared to Italian pizza, it’s roughly on par in size and style — more personal-pie format, simple toppings, restrained approach. But compared to Connecticut pizza, it doesn’t come close. We’re spoiled here, especially in and around West Hartford, and this wouldn’t crack my personal top five.

That said, if you’re visiting from out of state and eat here, you’d probably call it good pizza — and you wouldn’t be wrong. You just wouldn’t be experiencing what makes Connecticut pizza exceptional. (And to be fair, you don’t necessarily get that at every franchise location of famous CT names either.)

The price point feels high for what you receive — essentially two personal-sized pies — and while the quality is respectable, it doesn’t distinguish itself enough to justify the cost in a region packed with stronger options.

I landed at three stars across the board because that’s exactly how it tastes: a solid, respectable, middle-of-the-road pizza. Worth trying once, especially if you like Italian-style pies. But in a state that sets the national standard for pizza, it doesn’t stand out.

I loved the atmosphere. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar, of course. The bartender was very friendly. Drinks were good. I ordered a gluten and dairy free cheese pizza. Come on!! No place ever offers dairy free cheese. The pizza was amazing!! Highly recommend!!

We went twice recently. All the pizzas we had tasted good. I didn’t like the chicken wings(not in pic) though.

Had an amazing experience at Savoy thanks to Steven behind the bar. He was incredibly enthusiastic, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Every drink he made was absolutely perfect — you can tell he takes real pride in his craft. The cheesy bread, shrimp and the meatball grinders on the happy hour menu were delicious. Steven’s energy and professionalism really elevated the whole afternoon. Can’t wait to come back!

I am prefacing this review by stating I ordered delivery and have never been to the restaurant. This is only a review of the food. The pizza was really good and had a nice char per my request. Their non-dairy chesse was flavorful and gave good taste to the pepperoni pizza I ordered. The carne was good as well and nice and thin. Each pizza came with 6 slices, in decent portion sizes.
