We came to London with one clear mission: to find the best Beef Wellington in the city. After all the comparisons, debates, and famous names, I can say this with absolute certainty — Savoy Grill is where the crown truly belongs.

The Beef Wellington here is not just a dish, it’s a statement. Perfectly cooked beef, flawless duxelles, pastry that is crisp yet delicate — everything in balance, everything intentional. We’ve tried Wellington elsewhere, including Bob Bob Ricard, and while that is a good restaurant, this is simply a different league. Savoy Grill doesn’t compete — it defines the standard.

What truly elevates the experience, though, is the people. From the chef, whose mastery is evident in every bite, to the waitstaff, who combine professionalism with genuine warmth, to the sommelier, whose wine pairing was thoughtful, precise, and elevated the meal even further — everyone made us feel cared for, welcomed, and understood.

The atmosphere is classic, confident, and timeless. You don’t feel rushed, you don’t feel sold to — you feel like you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

If you come to London searching for excellence, tradition, and food done at the highest possible level, this is the place.
Savoy Grill isn’t just one of the best restaurants in London — it’s an experience you measure others against.

Our experience at the Savoy Grill was delightful. The service and attention to detail were impeccable. We were recommended the festive menu which was a great choice given our desire for oysters and beef Wellington. We skipped the wine pairing this time but it would likely enhance your meal for a special occasion. Our neighbours were enjoying crepes flambé which smelled amazing. If you’re dining à la carte I highly recommend trying these.

My server Nico was very mindful, I was settled on the Beef Wellington but he recommended me an incredible starter to compliment my main course. The sticky toffee pudding is just so good, another classic by Ramsey. Santosh was very entertaining, he also was very dedicated at making sure my experience was memorable all while maintaining the high standards that the Savoy Hotel has to offer to its guests. Dara the hostess made sure everything was up to par during my reservation and was very welcoming. Overall the food was incredible and the sommelier had an incredible selection to pair with the dishes. The staff is what really took this experience to another level, big thank you to them and their dedication.

Fine dining at its finest. Booked for a special occasion and it was truly excellent food. Some great flavours for the palate, you can taste the fresh ingredients and herbs. The hake was very well cooked and the duck fell off the bone (so I am told). Very attentive staff and friendly.

Our first time. Be aware reservations are recommended although we managed to get reservations the same day on our way to London on the train. We order the martini style and the statesman. Both were excellent. The statesman includes a smoked presentation. We also ordered still water and malted sourdough bread. Then we had the garden salad (it was big) and the salmon starter. Both were excellent, except the salmon only came with 1 piece of toasted bread. Then we had the seared scallop and the beef Wellington slice (off the 2 course festive menu). Both were excellent. The Wellington was better than any I’ve had at Ramsay’s US restaurants. To finish off we shared a sticky toffee pudding. The lightest version we’ve had in the UK. I would definitely come back when in London.

Dining at Savoy Grill is a truly memorable experience, perfect for celebrating a special occasion. From the moment you arrive, the reception is incredible: warm, attentive, and professional, making you feel genuinely welcomed. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with classic elegance, refined details, and a timeless charm that elevates the entire evening. The gourmet food is exceptional, beautifully presented and rich in flavor, showcasing impeccable technique and ingredients. Each course feels thoughtfully crafted, balancing tradition with subtle creativity. The atmosphere is fabulous—lively yet intimate—allowing conversation and celebration to flow naturally. Service is polished without being intrusive, and every detail feels carefully considered. Savoy Grill delivers not just a meal, but a complete dining experience that feels luxurious, indulgent, and unforgettable.

I’ve been waiting to try the British classic – Beef Wellington for quite some time now, but there were very few places offering this dish for single servings, which is precisely the reason why I chose this place. Wanted to try few more things and decided to go with the tasting menu. So to sum up my experience, I would say it was satisfactory! The preparation on every single course was carefully thought of and extremely well executed. Right from the canapé to the dessert. Still the flavours should have been more piquant or might I add…more diverse. Like for example – the Haddock Soufflé was one of the best prepared savoury version of the soufflé I’ve ever had but it lacked the finesse to be extraordinary; the Beef Wellington was top notch but taste-wise, it was quite flat; the final dessert, though delicious, was the usual. Great food, but lacking zesty flavours in my opinion. All in all, the food felt like it was one tone.
The service I would say, was good from some folks but not everybody…like just cracking a smile isn’t that hard come on! I wanted to ask them to exclude gratuity, but also I did not want to penalize some other servers who were kind…so that’s that. Food (minus the flavours) and for ok service…I’ll rate 4 stars.

Dining at Gordon Ramsay’s Savoy Grill is nothing short of an exceptional experience — a seamless blend of timeless elegance and world-class cuisine. The set three-course menu perfectly showcases the kitchen’s artistry and precision.

The steak tartare starter was a triumph of texture and balance — beautifully seasoned, with just the right bite and a richness that lingered without overpowering. The Atlantic cod was delicately cooked, perfectly flaky, and paired with refined accompaniments that elevated every mouthful. The beef Wellington, however, was the undeniable showstopper — tender, melt-in-the-mouth beef wrapped in golden pastry perfection, exactly as you’d hope from Ramsay’s signature dish.

To finish, the orange torte offered a vibrant finale — light yet indulgent, with a citrus brightness that cut through the richness of the meal and left the palate refreshed.

From start to finish, every course was meticulously executed and full of flavour. Combined with impeccable service and the timeless charm of the Savoy, this is fine dining at its best — a must-visit for anyone seeking the true Gordon Ramsay experience.

The service at the Savoy Grill was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the staff exuded warmth, professionalism, and genuine attentiveness. Every detail was handled with quiet precision — water glasses were never left empty, courses arrived with perfect timing, and each dish was introduced with passion and knowledge. The waiters were polished yet personable, effortlessly striking the balance between formality and friendliness. Their anticipation of our needs made the entire experience feel seamless and special. It’s clear that the front-of-house team takes immense pride in delivering a truly five-star dining experience — a level of service that perfectly complements the exceptional food and setting.

we visited the savoy grill in november 2025 and the main objective of beef wellington was achieved fabulously (overall 8.4/10)

we got:
– malted sourdough bread with marmite brown butter (7.7/10)
– arnold bennett soufflé (8.8/10)
– duck liver terrine (8.3/10)
– beef wellington (8.5/10)
– rum flambéed crepes (8.0/10)
– complimentary chocolate tarts (6.5/10)

it was my first time having a beef welly, and it was honestly better than i expected. cooked perfectly medium rare and so so tender. the truffle mushrooms ‍ worked well w the pastry.

i LOVED the soufflé, make sure to keep some bread to dip it w. the duck liver looked different, more pink, than the ones i’ve had before, but it was surprisingly was aromatic and fruity.

the cherry on top was the fantastic service, bonus points if you get the crepes for dessert. unfortunately it does get really crowded and loud, and there was a couple hovering around waiting for us to finish our table, even with that, i would definitely go again.

We had a wonderful experience. The sommelier finds good wines. The food was excellent, the Wellington was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delightful. The restaurant was noisy but it was OK. They changed a plate on the menu for us. The staff was kind and helpful. Timing was good. Thanks for your help.
