The bread pudding was amazing and I’m not a bread pudding fan. The blackened tuna on salad was delicious. The mini crab cakes had a great filling and good sauce! My toddler loved the chicken tenders and fries!!!

I’ve never been here before but, some of my co-workers come here often and suggested as a great place to go to. The place has pretty cool decorations and the waitress was friendly.

The smoked tuna was good but could have been better but, whoever seasoned it was alittle heavy handed with the salt.

I ordered the Pig Mac which was a burger topped with bbq pulled pork, pickles and mayo. It was very delicious and definitely full of flavor! I ordered a side of fries with it which was fresh and hot but, again someone was heavy handed with the salt.

My wife ordered the catfish plate with a side of their house made chips. The fried catfish itself was crispy on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. But, again the chips were heavily seasoned with salt.

All in all the lunch was good other then salty smoked tuna dip, fries and chips.

Prepared well, but the chips seemed to be over seasoned this time.

Service: the service was excellent. The manager recognized me from a few months back. That is always nice.

Food:
Trout with chips and green beans: everything seemed to be cooked well. The fish was pan fried, the chips were crispy, and the beans were cooked appropriately. I couldn’t tell if it was just the chips that were over seasoned or if the fish and the green beans were over seasoned as well. It wasn’t unpalatable.

SPECIAL Red fish with stuffing and asparagus:
The sauces was a white sauce and had the right amount of flavor. The sauce paired very well with the fish and stuffing. Worth the price. Everything was cooked perfectly.

Orange cream cake:
Oh so delicious. The cake was moist, but not soggy. The whipped topping was light and was nicely sweetened, if it was sweetened at all.

I can really tell chef is behind all of this and I appreciate the food from savory roots. I will be visiting again!

What a hidden gem, quiet atmosphere and great food. We had appetizers and the portions were amazing. Blackened shrimp natchos and the Pig fries (sweet potato fries smothered in the best pulled pork I’ve ever had).

Finally made it by here today. Been wanting to go for a few years. I only ordered a burger and fries (Thursdays lunch special) to go and some bread pudding.
Let me tell you, I’ve been missing out!. From first bite of the burger I could tell their food is amazing. The burger was one of the best ive had. And the bread pudding was also some of the best I’ve had. Mind you this was after driving home about 30 minutes to eat. I wish I would have eaten there. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the food. I know it’s going to be fantastic. The service was excellent as soon as I opened the door until I left. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

First time customers here. Husband had the redfish special; I had the catfish. Both were delicious with unique flavors and the presentation of the dishes was impressive. The restaurant itself was very clean and the entire waitstaff was friendly and VERY attentive. Can’t wait to return. The salads and poboys look fantastic!

We had the lunch special of red beans and rice w/fish filet, bowl of gumbo and smoked tuna salad. All were excellent. The smoked tuna was my favorite. When in the area, I will return.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Any time we go to Pine Hills Plant Nursery, we come here to eat afterward and look forward to it. Can’t wait until it’s a bit cooler and we can sit outside on the porch again.

Everyone here is friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I’ve only ever had the shrimp remoulade poboy and it is delicious! My daughter usually gets fried shrimp, but today she wanted fried shrimp on the kids salad and they were able to accommodate that.

Today is the first time we’ve gotten dessert and boy were we missing out! The caramel white chocolate bread pudding is the best bread pudding I’ve ever had. Absolutely fantastic! Already trying to come up with excuses to go get some more!

Tried this place since new ownership, we weren’t impressed. Although the menu is partially the same the quality of the food we have enjoyed numerous times was just not there. The shrimp and grits were the best on the coast with previous owners but now it tasted like I poured cream sauce on cornbread! Also too the cream sauce was very greasy and the shrimp were over cooked. The Redfish also too wasn’t up to par as well. I hope as time goes it gets better in the quality. The staff was very kind however.
