They were out of about 40% of what we asked for off the menu. Off the top of my head there was no shrimp, no corn, no salad amongst other items we tried to order. Once we were able to settle on sides they actually had it took almost an hour for our order to arrive. The waitress was nice but never once returned to our table to check on us or refill our drinks. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese, it was old and stale with a funky seasoning salt taste to it while my Cousin next to me got a big heaping bowl of gooey, cheesy delicious looking Mac and cheese. Definitely not consistent. It was like I was given refrigerated leftovers and he got freshly cooked sides. I ordered mashed potatoes that were very obviously boxed instant potatoes and so stiff the utensils stood upright in them. I asked for butter for the potatoes and the butter tasted like it had been sitting open in a refrigerator for some time, it was not fresh and quite stale. Another cousin and I both ordered yeast rolls. My “yeast roll” which did not in any way whatsoever resemble a yeast roll was as hard as a brick and had freezer burn, the taste of freezer burn was actually overwhelming. I tapped it on the table to show my family how hard it was and told my cousin to taste his which had been warmed, buttered and was soft so again an inconsistency. I also had the slaw and sweet tea which were good. My Mom had fried chicken and hush puppies both of which she said where burnt and tasted like they were cooked in old oil. My Cousins had baked chicken and I think maybe meatloaf and enjoyed those. The green beans and the cabbage were cooked in meat which the waitress did not know the answer to that question which is a concern for a variety of reasons. My Uncle had BBQ and baked beans and liked that and two of our guests had corn bread which they said was dry and bland. Overall it was an experience that we will not be experiencing again. Also, the other table of customers in the restaurant were friendly and probably spoke to us more than our own waitress did. None of my food was clearly eaten but we were not asked how we liked our meal, how everything was etc…. Just sat down, eventually given food and we even had to find the waitress so we could pay to leave.
I usually would have said something however I was there with my Mother and Uncle who’s brother had just passed away several hours prior, I was with his son who’s father had just passed away, cousins who had just lost an Uncle and we just needed to get away from the house and get a decent meal and take a breath so it was not the time or place to speak my mind. This was probably the worst dining experience I have ever had food wise and the fact that that food ended up being paid for in the end because no one even bothered to ask or notice the food was untouched is what prompted me to write this honest review.

Ordered grilled shrimp but I didnt get grilled shrimp and the spice on them wow. Food took way too long and how are you out of salad as a restaurant? Not again

Nice folks and a fair selection of entree items to choose from. Lots of Southern style favs!
Prices were a little higher than expected, $21.00 including tip, but I was full and was able to eat peacefully.
Probably won’t hit this again for lunch, I’m sure their catering/buffet service is great!

Buffet Southern Food restaurant stopped in for the breakfast buffet. There is plenty of seating, and it has a quiet atmosphere with reasonably priced food with carry out also. One small issue i noticed is that a drink didn’t come with the carry out order.

On my way back to Jax, my mouth wanted some ribs. We googled and found this place!! Now they don’t have ribs on Saturday, but that turned out to be a blessing because the pork chops were DELICIOUS!! They were seasoned to perfection and fried just the way I like them! Owner was nice too and let me sample the fatback! Portions and prices were good as well. I will definitely be back when i’m in the area!

Everything on the buffet was perfect. Food and service were both excellent. We’ll be stopping here regularly on our way home from the beach from now on.

Stop by heading to Charlotte from the beach…..man it was soooo good! The buffet food looks dry and definitely had been out way to long….but we ordered from menu. I’m sure they just needed to put fresh food out bc the food was tasty!!!

Good Southern food with many choices and one can select either a meat with 2 sides or just certain dishes.
