Savanna Portage was originally built in the early 1980’s and was the areas only fine dinning supper club around. After a fire in the early 2000’s it was rebuilt to the building it is today. It is the area’s best place from Duluth to Grand Rapids to stop. Whether that is for a bite to eat or to have a drink. The Savanna Portage Restaurant and Bar is known for their broasted chicken and Ruben sandwiches. They are also known for the best burgers around. The burgers are made from fresh never frozen all beef 1/2 lb beef burger. Fridays is the local spot to get the infamous fish fry hand dipped fried to perfection with potato, soup or salad bar.

The service was incredibly fast and very friendly. Food was on point. The cheese curds were absolutely delicious and would highly recommend them. I also got the shrimp burger. It sounded weird but was very tasty! If you’re looking for some good bites and a cozy atmosphere, this is your stop.

We got burgers. Saturday night, bean bag tourney happening outside. Asked for medium rare, perfectly made. We were worried with the crowd but our wings came out first, service was great, food was great. Great experience, crispy wings under the sauciness. Maybe bring back chicken Caesar wrap?

Stopped in on our way through. It was well worth the stop. Looks like all the burgers are 1/2 lb, my wife had the rueben, I am thinking the pastrami was house made and delicious. This is a big if, they also have a variety of ice cream if you have room after your 1/2lb burger.

Cute, relaxing restaurant with delicious food! Visited on a Sunday afternoon and only ever 5 tables at a time with customers, seemed like one server for the whole place. No issues, always had our drinks filled and always checked on us if we needed anything!
