Friendly staff, good food and wonderful atmosphere in the open air back area. First time last Saturday, definitely will go back. Weather was great, live music, drinks and food made for a great night. In the back you wouldn’t realize you were in saugatuck or any town for that matter, it was great it felt more tropical. The ribs were delicious, loved the rub. Combo platter walleye and shrimp were very good, I’d get just the walleye it was tender and flavorful. Crab cake lacked flavor but red beans and rice and Mac and cheese sides were also very good.

Our first experience was a really good one! Service was cheerful and prompt. We ordered the Crawfish hush puppies, walleye, and lobster roll. It was all delicious, but… The real stars of the show were the sauces!! They were all incredibly flavored and added a pizzazz that was a little surprising. Specifically, the charred tomato mayo and horsey ranch caught us by surprise and really set the meal off. In addition to good food and great service, the atmosphere was so great! Live music, relax outdoors beach city vibe, and again just such friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing! Food is amazing! Went with my whole family and each had different things. Every menu item was so delicious and fresh!! Management amazing and took the time to make sure everything was good. Servers were great and fun! The whole atmosphere was inviting, entertaining, fun, warm and welcoming. The music was perfect! Everyone should go here! The outdoor patio in the back is beautiful!

The fish was very good as were the fries. As this is a take on a Southern fish camp I should have expected the spicy nature of the coleslaw no dressing, just an over abundance of spices. If you like dry coleslaw, then it’s okay. My husband’s $10.00 martini was only 2/3’s full. And they had no olives for it either.. And while the special sauces are nice, the option to get plain old tartar sauce would have been nice. There is a lot of work to be done to bring this place up to something worth going back to.

Overall, we were pretty disappointed by our meal here, which was a bummer. Our server was lovely and attentive. The fries were delicious, the oysters had a fishy smell though they didn’t taste bad, but the “Crab Boil” for 2 was extremely small and had extremely fishy crab and crayfish “shreds” rather than anything whole or in its shell. The sausage was good, the shrimp were fine, but overall for $55 it was a really lackluster dish. With a name like Saugatuck Fish Camp, the seafood options should really shine, and they didn’t.
It might also be helpful for folks to know that the back “patio” is picnic tables on extremely dusty gravel. It’s not great for dogs or kids unless you don’t mind that they get really dirty and dusty.

Amazing live music, amazing food, amazing service!!! We came in around 10 o’clock, drawn by the live music. The waitress and chef came round, and kept the kitchen open for us!! The grouper sandwich was sooo good, and the cheesy grits and crawfish hush puppies were to die for. The musician was extremely talented and entertaining. We loved our experience here, and we’d absolutely come back!!

Two stars for the service and server. They were excellent. Unfortunately, the fish was inedible. The fried fish was soggy and unseasoned. The grilled grouper was overcooked and rubbery. French fries are the only thing that saved us from buying another dinner. At $23 and $28, this place needs a serious revamp. Save your money, get a fish fillet from Burger King. It’s only a mile away.

Just spent a weekend in Saugatuck and went here three times! First, we just stopped for a drink while we were going through town. The drinks and oysters were great and our bartender (the owner’s mom) was awesome.
We liked it so much that we can back the next day to sit in the beer garden, listen to the guitar player (Nick – who was great), and have some gumbo. We left for our dinner reservations elsewhere and realized we made the wrong call and should have skipped the reservations and just hung at Fish Camp all night. We eventually went back for more drinks and music.
I will also say that while they were understaffed (as everyone is these days) the servers were so kind and welcoming, I would have never known they were understaffed except for the fact that as a former server I notice these things.
Seriously – everything was perfect from the servers and bartenders to the drinks, food, vibe, and music.

The SFC is a must visit. Great food and friendly staff. The outdoor space in back is so comfortable. It’s as if your at a backyard party with the live bands on the weekends. Everyone is so friendly so we made new friends!! We will definitely be returning soon.
