Came in a few days ago with my mother cause we were looking for a good food spot close by to eat, we were taking a forklifting course and were on our lunch break so our instructor recommended us to try this place. Which was actually really good! I’m a huge barbecue fan and I don’t get to eat it often so I was more than excited to come here, I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with seasoned fries and a six count of their Mac Balls, whereas my mom got their 2x Leg Quarter (she wasn’t aware how big they really were until they came out) but both of us really enjoyed our food. The fries were delicious and my sandwich was very savory (not a coleslaw fan, but that was an option to get it either put on or on the side, but as you can see I said no) also there Mac Balls we’re also very delicious though I wasn’t too big of a fan of the sauce that came on the side next to it (might be yours so don’t let me stop you from trying it). And the waiter staff were super nice and friendly to us, if we lived closer we’d definitely be back but unfortunately we don’t, either way 10/10 would recommend giving them a try!

Was in the Hopewell area and found out about this bbq place. Located in an old industrial area near what smells like a water treatment plant, the exterior looked promising and although there was no smoke to be seen or smelled, the building is about perfect for a bbq place. The atmosphere and country/southern rock music was fitting and the big ol box of napkins on our table seemed promising for a place called Saucy’s. Our server was attentive and friendly but the lack of any smokey aroma that is usually associated with a hard-core bbq place seemed disappointing. They had a good beer selection but with hours of driving ahead of us, unfortunately we had to pass. The portions were not huge, about average, and the prices were on par for bbq places these days but the smoke level of the meat was very low. It was clear that everything had been cooked and smoked for a bit previously and re-heated, which isn’t necessarily a deal breaker but the smoke flavor was nearly non-existent. The sauce was ok, but was probably more like a North Carolina style bbq sauce- not spicy or peppery, and thankfully not sweet but a little bland, tasted store bought but sodium benzoate and vinegar forward. The sausage had an unusual spice profile but was tasty because it was different. The chicken leg was the most smoked item in my sampler- but could have used more seasoning and less sauce. The brisket was sadly a disappointment: tasting old and dry. The rib was tender but lacked any smoke. I would put this place in the same boat as Allmans in FXBG or Mission bbq- another place with good atmosphere but very little smoke flavor in the meat. The potato salad was pretty good but could have used more salt. The little cup of cole slaw was good, I liked the cilantro in it, but the wife thinks cilantro tastes like soap so she gave it a thumbs down. Overall, not bad but okay. With a restaurant owner in the family I know how tough it can be to turn out your best every night, especially bbq which would be best prepared daily but would be hard to manage because you don’t know how much is too little or too much to make for each service. So I wish these guys the best and hope they’ll keep working on things like the sauce and their smoking schedule. I would try them again in the future.

They were the most chewy ribs I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant. You pull ribs off by internal temp and it’s obvious they didn’t allow those ribs to get anywhere near 190 degrees . They apparently smoke the ribs to an internal safe to eat temp and take them off the smoker. Wouldn’t be surprised if they smoke the chicken and the ribs for the same time. First time and last time. You can tell when the people working don’t enjoy the product they make. Sad, place had so much potential. You can cook better ribs for the first time at home. Wasted 60 bucks, and disappointed my family.

Great place to enjoy some awesome food! Really enjoyed the brisket and Mac ‘n Cheese. I also appreciated the fact that the brisket was nicely smoked and contained very little fat – and, of course, the sauce was wonderful!

Went here today seeking to go somewhere I haven’t been before and I’m glad I did. I ordered the sampler, which came with a slider, sausage, chicken, ribs, and 2 sides. Well worth the price of $17.99. While I did enjoy the food very much, there were a few cons. First, the which I view as a stable in BBQ, was very bland and nothing special. It tasted like a low quality store bought sauce that failed for deliver an excitement. The Mac n cheese I ordered and a side seemed to skimp on the “cheese” and the Mac was slightly over cooked. Pros: the brisket is absolutely Devine! It did it disappoint at all. It is definitely a contender against the best brisket you’ve had. The pulled pork was also pretty decent. Add some salt and pepper to it, and it takes it up a notch. The ribs were also pretty good. Tender and almost fall off the bone style. The chicken was juicy and tasted good but had the “chewy wiggly” skin as opposed to crispy skin (just a personal preference for me). The corn bread was also very delicious! It had just the right amount of sweetness, flavor, and depth I look for in a good tasting cornbread. I also had an order of Cue balls, which was like a hush puppy filled with sweet potato, cheese, jalapeño, and maybe another ingredient or two. Definitely worth a try! The service was ok notch. Waitress was very attentive, had a great attitude and took care of me throughout my time there. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. It has an industrial feel which I really like. Good environment to kick back and relax, especially after a long day. Overall I rate this place a 4.2. Recommend to try if you like BBQ, trying new places, or just want to eat out!

Awesome find while killing time waiting for an event at the Beacon Theater. Server / bartender was super knowledgeable, engaging, friendly, and energetic – fantastic service. Brisket was on point, and a super peppery sauce to go with it, accompanied by pickled red onions and cornbread (bartender’s recommendation). Simply put – I will 100% go back to Saucy’s for BBQ when I’m in Hopewell. It was so good I might drive to Hopewell JUST for Saucy’s.

Wow the second order of the day and nachos had to be remade and burnt the the second order. Pork ribs burnt from yesterday and Wow what a disappointment. We’ve had good food here not today at 515. Never again! Oh coleslaw was warm tossed it!

Industrial garage atmosphere w hard surfaces, plastic forks & paper plates typifies your dining experience when you enter Saucy’s. But the friendly service, tasty barbecue, and casual, small-town dining are what make Saucy’s a place you want to return to. The menu offers reasonably priced sandwiches. All items are a la carte. The only thing we saw that combined several items was the Sampler Platter. We chose to share it and were pleasantly satisfied at the meal’s end. The Sampler contains your choice of meat slider (brisket for us), a chicken breast, a rib, (both w the sauce rubbed on them), a pork sausage, and our choice of two sides. The 3 bean salad and potato salad were dope! The best choice possible!

Driest and wort cut ribs I’ve had in my life but they do have the only glass bottle cheerwine I can find outside of the Carolinas so I guess thats something. I asked for two bottles and I’m pretty sure the guy lied about being out and only gave me one, as I did see him give another customer a bottle as I left. Crazy work. I guess you have to ration the only good item on the menu. Good rustic decor though.
