My friend and I decided to give a 5 for the following reasons.
1. Food was hot and fresh.
2. Seated quickly. Food and beverages were served promptly.
3. Our waitress, Raven, was on the move and did great. She recommended the Cajun mustard and it was delicious. (This mustard topped the scale to a solid 5)
4. We sat outside and could see the ocean. Bonus.
5. The sauces were super yummy. Ask for Cajun mustard. It doesn’t taste like mustard. It tastes like a sauce should! 🙂
6. Coke products. We both love a Coke Zero with a lime in it.
7. The food was good.
Note: We felt like the appetizers, while delicious, were overpriced.
In the photos you’ll see we chose:
Appetizer: coconut chicken.
Entrees: Beer cheese bacon burger with twisted tasters. Added cheese and grits and a container of beer cheese sauce
Shrimp and Grits with a side of twisted taters and an add on of cheese.
We had enough to take back to the condo for supper.
Note: the restaurant is is in a condo. You’ll need to go through acerbity to get in if you’re not staying.

Not to be confused with the pizza one, Sassy Bass Island Grill is absolutely delicious! I absolutely hate fish and have to say this has some great tasting fish, shrimp, chicken, tater twists and has a great selection of adult beverages available. Everything they made our group the two times we went was perfection. 10/10 recommend!

Small restaurant with beach views. Indoor and outdoor seating was cool. Stopped here after leaving Fort Morgan, it’s about 15 minutes from The Hangout area of Gulf Shores so it wasn’t crowded. The shrimp n taters basket was enough to feed 2 people. I loved the homemade tartar sauce. Friendly staff, fresh seafood, really hit the spot after a day in the sun!

You have to go through a gate to park and go to this restaurant, which would be fine, but it seemed like the vehicle in front of me had 50billion11 questions for the guy letting people in. For a quiet area, there ended up being 7 cars behind me and the conversation ahead was not letting up. Once I got to the restaurant, service and food were just ok. I wish I had taken the opportunity given by having to wait so long to turn around and go elsewhere. Prices were a bit steep in my opinion.

Great food and service! Also, one of the best Bloody Mary’s I’ve ever had! Plenty of options for kids as well. I recommend going for a late lunch/ early dinner as there was no wait time and food was quick to the table.

This review is specifically for Sassy Chophouse & Cocktails. My boyfriend and I stayed two nights in Fort Morgan while on a road trip from Florida to Louisiana. We ended up at Sassy our first night because it was the closest restaurant to the yurt we were staying at (which I also highly recommend). After eating there, we couldn’t have been happier we ended up here. The service from our waiter, Dylan, was amazing as was the food. I had the tuna steak and my boyfriend had the pork chop and both were cooked to perfection and tasted so yummy. We also split creamed corn and mushrooms and started with coconut shrimp as an app. We loved this place so much we went there the next night, first for drinks from the lovely bartender Leslie and then again for dinner with Dylan as our waiter once again. The manager, Joey, recognized us and appreciated our repeat business so much that he surprised us with the most beautiful charcuterie board. We barely had room for our ribs and Cajun shrimp skillet, but both were amazing and we took them home with us. If we’re ever back in Fort Morgan, we’re definitely stopping by Sassy Chophouse & Cocktails.

Man I love this little place! Just a little pricey compared to similar spots but boy do you get what you pay for. Shrimp and fries was $27 but it was delicious, and so hot when it came out I had to wait a minute to even start eating. The rice was a little disappointing but the mahi mahi was great as well. Great atmosphere for such a small little restaurant. The cooks were working their butts off!

We truly enjoy our time at the restaurant each time we came! We came on one of the busiest nights of the week and saw how amazing this place can get, but the staff was OUTSTANDING!! Each time we had Destiny and she truly went out of her way even in the busiest of times to make us feel seen and comfortable! The other server that night was equally amazing with how personable each of them were with their customers. Can’t wait to come back and see them again!
OH! And the views were out of this world!

We visited the Sassy Bass Island Grill for the 1st time last night. date: 10/08/25* We had been wanting to try it for sometime and with it being in walking distance from our room it made it convenient. Apparently, most of the staff quit due to poor management. Then the management quit too, but they somehow still proceeded to open in the later afternoon after being closed all morning. Several people was there waiting on to go orders and to be seated at tables. (one couple seated at a back table said that they had been there was 3 1/2 hours and the food was cold & raw when they finally received it) *outdoor seating was closed* The poor waitress manning all the orders was overwhelmed with work while the cook in back was yelling and cursing at the other workers for the whole restaurant to hear. Several people walked in and left after seeing the situation. My friend and I walked in to the waitress explaining to others the situation so we knew it might be a few minutes before got our Togo order of (2) mixed drinks. We asked her…since it was just going to be two drinks would it be a long wait like the food orders, she said no, she would make them right away. She did not; but already took our payment $16 each per drink. After waiting 45 minutes we asked for our drinks or a refund. After waiting approximately 1 hour we got our drinks and they stated that they did not know how to issue refunds. Also, our drinks did not contain alcohol. Very disappointed, will not be returning. We would not recommend until further notice at least until they can get their stuff together. DRIVE SOMEWHERE, GRILL OUT ON THE CHARCOAL GRILLS or ORDER SASSYBASS PIZZA AND HAVE IT DELIVERED (it’s a different location)– You’ll be glad you did.

From the Boomer jams to the authentic sea-side tavern motif, the experience couldn’t have been better. Took the Plantation entrance and parked right across from the walk. The small Sassy Bass Island Grill sign on the building belies the ambience and authentic fresh seafood and other cuisine served within. Don’t miss breakfast! My family thinks I dish up a mean Eggs Benedict for Christmas Brunch, but mine doesn’t top the grilled shrimp and crab cake Island Benedict served up by Sassy Bass. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, just the best. 5 stars all the way!!!!!
