I’m a frequent customer of this shop because I used to work in the mall when Sears was still there and love the food. Tonight, I was given about half the amount of Chicken that I normally receive and watched another person ahead of me receive the normal amount. When I asked, I was told by the person at the register in the picture that the customer in question worked in the mall currently and was a VIP because of that, and received special treatment for that.

Food is good but the workers are rude and don’t like when you ask for fresh chicken. They try to give you chicken that’s been sitting out for who knows how long.
Went again 11/11/25 and the service was even worse. Paid for extra chicken and did not receive it and when I tried to tell them they got really upset and tried to say I didn’t pay not pay for extra. Once I showed them I did they told me that they already gave me extra chicken. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt but this will be my last visit.

I’ve came here for quite some time, food is always pretty good, but staff is somewhat lacking.
I normally get extra chicken with fried rice for myself, and chicken with noodles for my daughter. I wish they would put more than a tiny scoop of steamed veggies with your combo—my kid really loves the broccoli out of it, and I really love the cabbage. Normally the chicken and side dish portions are never a problem, sometimes I think they put a little too much lol.
I’ve never really had any issues with the guys serving the chicken, they’re normally friendly and smile at me. The cashier can be iffy, I waited one time for him to wait on me for nearly 10 minutes. Sometimes the cashiers can be rude or ignorant.
Out of all the restaurants that come & go over the years in the food court, this one has managed to stay around. I fear if the staff issue doesn’t get fixed it may go like the rest of the old restaurants.

Used to love the chicken teriyaki over rice but now, half the time it’s tasteless (not enough teriyaki) or there are other issues like hair in the food. The main cashier is rude, drinks behind the food line (violation of food service regulations), and is snippy with some of the guests. TBH, even when the food is good you have a chance of coming into the Food Court only for the restaurant to be randomly closed, no signage, with Google saying that they’re open.
I…think I’m done. It’s barely worth the ~$10 per dish when it’s decent, when everything else is so mismanaged it’s DEFINITELY not worth it.
I suspect that they’ll close soon.

Drove to see kid in Illinois, and traveled to Sarku to enjoy a great meal at the Mall. Louisiana doesn’t have a Sarku of Japan anymore, have to travel out of state to find great food like Sarku.
