The lady behind the counter was ready to take my order as soon as I walked up, she was very pleasant. I ordered #1 teriyaki with white rice and veggies + extra protein. It came out to 13.33$, more than fair price for the portion I recieved. Cook got to working it right away and it came out fresh. I could barely close the plate with how much chicken was on it. Everything was hot and great tasting just how I remember Sarku to be. Shame this is one of the last few locations available. I’ve been to this location once or twice before but definitely will keep it in mind more often.

Service was just regular service. Like they don’t want to be there but they were nice. Place is very very unsanitary. They have the rice in a pot on a barstool a few feet above the ground. Same lady who handles cash handles the rice and trays. Unsanitary. Gentlemen who cooks isn’t wearing gloves and they keep the food in a little fridge below the stove/grill. Scoop it right above the floor. Just very gross and will NOT be eating here again. Also in a dead spot of the mall. Atmosphere is dead.

I ordered teriyaki chicken online for first time, received a plate of with some piece of chicken which say hi to teriyaki sauce and one small piece of broccoli and couple piece of steamed cabbage.

First off, let me say I’m a huge Sarku fan, well at least a fan of the ones by my area. This Sarku, on the other hand, is pretty trash. The food is never fresh. The chicken looks like it’s been sitting there for hours and then you order and the dude just warms it up for literally 7 seconds. I used to work at a Sarku in high school so I understand the chef always makes a little extra based on the flow of customers. This guy’s always got like 3 pounds of precooked chicken just sitting there. I’m pretty sure he just cooks ahead of time in bulk so that he doesn’t have to cook it fresh every time like the other sarku’s do. I’ve eaten here at this one 3 times and every time the chicken has tasted weird and old, like sitting out for hours old. That’s not okay. I’m spending money. I want good tasting food and I definitely don’t want to get sick. Today was the last chance I gave this place, I’m not coming back. Crazy how the other sarku’s are literally some of my favorite restaurants to eat at and this one I view as absolute trash.

While the food is good, this place really went downhill. The service by the young lady at the counter is …very bad to say the least. She acts as if she was doing the customer a favor by taking their order , considering she takes the order correctly. I ordered the teriyaki chicken which mind you is delicious, but without veggies. Under the chicken were the veggies which were put in incorrectly. I get it mistakes happen, people are tired. But the way she looked at me when i told her that it was incorrect made me regret coming back here. She simply told the cook to pick the veggies out because it would take too long to re-make the order, even though there were other people placing orders and the ingredients were already being prepared. Well the cook listened, continued making new orders as they came in and on the side there he was picking the veggies out with his hands. The way everything looked after he was done was indescribable. This lady needs to realize that if she continues to treat her customers the way she does now, she won’t be in business for too much longer. They lost a loyal customer and unless anything changes will keep losing customers. Stay away from this place till they get their $#!+ together.

Very unprofessional, the guy who is cooking just seems very rude and always looking mad like if he hates his job (the one who has been there for awhile) I only come here because the one in Vernon hills closed down. Also, the plates are very skimpy. They need to replace the cook. Also, some of the staff were vaping or smoking in back! They need more welcoming crew members
