Went to their 3rd St market hall location… The pad krawpow was overly salty… And flavor is mid. I don’t know if it was just this time. But I know it was not busy when i went there. The smoke brisket is good, and simple. But the pad krawpow, I was expecting chillie peppers and thought it would be more of the authentic Thai style. But notice there was carrots/mini corn/broccoli in the pad krawpow. It was more of a stir fry rather than pad krawpow.

Tried their new spot at 3rd Street Market Hall. The drunken noodles are fire. Just perfect spice and noodles were awesome. My kids loved their chicken pad Thai too.

They advertised Brisket fried rice, beef jerky and mama eggrolls but its only for dinner. We went there for lunch and the main things were not serve. If I wanted shrimp fried rice I would of just went home and made it my self. Then ordered their sausage with sticky rice did the cake no love in the cooking.

Great experience! We were immediately greeted with friendly service as soon as we walked up to the truck. We order fried chicken sandwiches, sapsap fried rice, and the egg rolls. Everything was 5 stars. I’ll be craving the fried rice until next time though!

I am all for supporting southeast Asian-owned businesses and introducing lesser known flavors to the MKE food scene, but this was especially disappointing. Do not let influencers fool you.

Went to the 3rd St Market location, I ordered the Pad Thai and Eggrolls, friend ordered the Brisket Fried Rice. I did not order the ‘classic’ Laotian dishes as I get skeptical when Lao/Thai/Hmong places only serve sausage with rice and pepper. Fried rice is hard to get wrong; it’s an easy A pass due to the savory charcoal flavor and tenderness of the beef. However, anyone can do fried rice, it’s not a Laotian dish.

Pad Thai was odd. While you could taste the tamarind, it lacked the depth and harmonized ‘punch’ of sweet and sour that Pad Thai is known for. It was also missing umami due to the lack of fish sauce. I had to pour my eggroll sauce into the dish to give it more oomf. I also didn’t realize this place puts frozen baby corn, broccoli, and chunks of carrots in their Pad Thai. Sorry, but I don’t think our ancestors grew these vegetables in the jungle. It’s an odd inclusion in the dish that is not authentic. Is this Chinese takeout?

The eggrolls were a flop, they tasted like eggrolls from bad Chinese takeout. You can usually tell if an eggroll is fresh or not from the filling mixture. The filling tasted old, I think the eggrolls were frozen? This is attributed to the extra moisture from dethawing via the cooking process – the extra moisture from the cabbage will create a sour taste opposed to a freshly made eggroll. I had my friend try and she agreed. Lao/Viet/Thai/Hmong are known for having better eggrolls, so this was upsetting.

Overall, this is a fast food Asian joint catered towards a certain demographic with the crutch of Asian ‘exotic’ novelty and appeal for a growing city. I’m happy these flavors are on the radar, but I’d be surprised to hear anyone of SE Asian background content with this. You might have to be very unfamiliar with this type of cuisine to call it great, but any representation is better than none. What makes food great, especially for any major metro, is the flavor. The authenticity and passion for your culture and heritage. None of that was present in my meal today.

Pho (1/10) was basically brown water – lack flavor. Brisket was most definitely not smoked, just boiled. Noodles were over cooked and breaking apart.

FC Bahn Mi (7/10) – this was good, decent portion, the sauce had a good kick.

Sap Sap fried rice (1/10) – the chicken was for sure like a day old and hanging around. It was hard and tasted old like I wouldn’t even feed it to my dog type old. Lacked flavor.

Overall – this is a first and last for us.

First time trying this place after seeing good reviews. I was going to go with the brisket fried rice, but I haven’t had a bahn mi me in a while so I decided to try that. I got the pork one, but I don’t really know if it was good or not because there was barely any pork on it. I was literally taking bites of bread, sauce and carrots.

Got the brisket fried rice and egg rolls. Egg rolls were ok. The brisket fried rice had no flavor and Only had pieces of fat not real meat. 1 out of 10 would not recommend. Might have better quality in the day time but at night don’t was the money
