Tried this place for dinner and was pleasantly surprised! It’s definitely on the pricier side, but we ordered drinks, an app, entrées, and dessert, so honestly, it’s about what you’d spend for a good Italian meal in the North End.

We started with the bruschetta, which was fresh and flavorful. For mains, we had the rigatoni cacio e pepe (one with chicken, one without) and the pesto gnocchi — all were delicious and very generous in portion size. We ended up taking leftovers home! For dessert, we tried the affogato and tiramisu. The tiramisu was just okay (we usually prefer the layered cake style version), but it still hit the spot for a sweet ending.

The only downside was our table placement, we were seated right by the bathrooms. Not a huge deal, but definitely not the most ideal spot while trying to enjoy dinner.

Overall, though, it’s a really nice restaurant with friendly, hardworking staff and great food. Perfect for a date night or a dinner out with friends. A great Italian find in Quincy!

This place is a hidden gem for Italian food aficionado. The restaurant is spacious and they also have bar seatings too!!! Staffs are friendly despite I came at 9:00PM. I ordered their calamari friti, spaghetti alla carbonara, and caprinha with mango. I have to say that they are the ONLY one who used guanciale as protein in their carbonara just as the Romans do. The pasta is al dente and the cheese melt in your mouth well. Calamari friti was good too, fried to crisp but the sauce can be improved. Caprinha is also authentic Brazilian flavor. I was told that this place is 2 family business, Brazilian and Italian. So, definitely check their caprinhas and pastas.

Really delicious food. The red sauce that I had on my baccala (salt cod) with pasta, see photo, was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The pear salad was equally good, with a hint of lemon in the dressing. My wife thought the food was overly salty, but I didn’t notice that myself. Service was slow on a Thursday night when the restaurant wasn’t particularly crowded, but we weren’t in a hurry so it wasn’t a big deal. One odd thing was someone in our party ordered what is a pretty well-known cocktail, even though it wasn’t on the menu, and had to explain to the server who came back from the bar at least once for clarification on how to make it. She ended up telling the server to just bring one of the ingredients on the side and she’d mix it herself. I mean, how hard is it to look up a cocktail recipe on the web? Overall, it was a nice dining experience.

Sapori is an outstanding restaurant that truly deserves a five-star rating. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm and inviting, with a cozy yet elegant setting that makes it perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every guest feels welcomed and well taken care of throughout the entire dining experience.

The food at Sapori is exceptional. Every dish is prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and full of authentic flavor. The pasta is perfectly cooked, the sauces are rich and well balanced, and the presentation is beautiful. You can tell that a lot of care and passion goes into each plate. Whether you order a classic Italian dish or try one of their specialties, the flavors are consistently delicious and satisfying.

Another highlight of Sapori is the overall dining experience. The service is quick without feeling rushed, and the staff are always happy to answer questions or make recommendations. Combined with the great food and welcoming environment, it creates a memorable meal that makes you want to come back again.

Overall, Sapori is a fantastic restaurant that offers amazing food, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. It’s a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine and a great dining experience. Definitely a five-star restaurant.

I honestly hate to be writing this review. We’ve been loyal patrons of this establishment since the days of Gelato Cafe—supported them through COVID and continued to dine here as they transitioned into Sapori Cucina & Bar. But after tonight, my friend and I agreed that this was truly one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.

To be clear: the food and drinks were good. That was not the issue. What ruined the entire evening was the way we were treated.

We had a 6:30 PM reservation and were seated a bit early around 6:20 PM. We placed all of our orders—food and drinks—immediately. We even asked if items could be brought out as they were ready, but the waiter said the charcuterie board would take up too much space, so we agreed to have the appetizer first. We finished the appetizer quickly, it was cleared, and then we sat waiting roughly 20 minutes before the charcuterie board arrived. Later we ordered a second round of drinks.

By around 8:15 PM, we had finished eating, paid our $160+ bill for two people, left a 20% tip, and had our leftovers packed. We still had half our drinks left and were simply finishing them before heading out—something extremely normal in any restaurant.

Then the entire experience went downhill. Before it was even 8:30 PM, both the waiter and the owner approached us to tell us that other parties had been waiting over 20 minutes for our table. The owner specifically mentioned a party with a 7:45 PM reservation waiting on us. He repeatedly insisted that we had “been there for over two hours,” even though I reminded him multiple times that our reservation was for 6:30, not 6:00. Instead of acknowledging the restaurant’s poor scheduling, slow pacing between courses, or lack of communication, the owner put the blame squarely on us—two loyal customers who had already paid, tipped well, and were wrapping up. And what made the situation even more unacceptable was that he continued to argue with me in front of other customers and doubling down as if we had done something wrong.

We were told, more than once, that reservations are for 1.5-hour limits because they are a small restaurant. Yet this was never communicated during booking, not posted anywhere (even though he insisted it’s posted on the website), not told to us when we sat down, and certainly not mentioned when the kitchen delays pushed our meal longer than expected.

The tone was accusatory, unprofessional, and frankly shocking. After years of supporting this place, we expected far better than being rushed out and lectured by the owner—especially when we followed all standard dining etiquette and the delays were not caused by us.

Tonight made it very clear that customer loyalty and respect are not valued here. Extremely disappointing, and unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

I came to Sapori after work and let me tell you my experience was a 10 out of 10 !!!!!! From the moment we walked in we were greeted kindly and seated quickly ! We were offered our preferred seating . The drinks were so delicious! My coworker and I had the mango and passionfruit caipirinha. We also had two tequila shots which were reasonably priced . The appetizers were wonderful from the meatballs , Caesar salad and calamari! We also ordered a few entrees, I had the seafood ravioli which was filled with a good portion of lobster and the tomato sauce was so fresh and delicious. The shrimp scampi pizza was perfectly cooked and flavorful. They also were very accommodating to certain substitutions and recommended great suggestions. Finally for dessert we had the gelato trio, churro lava cake and espresso martini and we were in heaven !! Will certainly be back again . Thank you for the amazing service and food !
