Wow I had very high expectations for this place considering the reviews. 20$ for a personal sized pizza is absolutely ridiculous. All of this was 50$ and barely fed my husband and I cuz we didn’t want to eat the meatballs because they tasted like a TV dinner. The best thing we got was the ranch and even that was 5$ which is insane. Ordered on DoorDash and definitely got my refund.

I’m from St.louis and have lived in Houston for 5 years now. I’ve been in search for the best pizza. Although I haven’t tried every spot in Houston, this takes first place. I was giving up hope that Houston didn’t know pizza. Sapore proved me wrong. I could eat here breakfast, lunch and dinner. Keep up the great work and don’t change a thing!

My wife and I stumbled across Sapore on a date night because we were in the area and decided we wanted some pizza. I’ve never had Detroit style pizza, but I have to say it’s delicious. It’s a think crust, but somehow they made it crispy on the bottom and edges while keeping the middle soft.
The owner of the place came out and asked if we were enjoying the food which was an awesome touch for a little place. Made it feel very authentic and personal. I had the Motown and it was amazing. Hot honey and jalapeños gave it a bit of a kick, which I love!
Highly recommended from a guy why is kinda picky about what I think is good pizza.

This pizza was ok, but unfortunately it was undercooked the top of the dough under the cheese was hardly cooked. The flavor was good, nice crispy frico cheese corners. I don’t want to go too far down on the rating but couldn’t give it 5 stars. The cheese bread was cooked well enough and quite tasty!

My wife and I wanted to try this place and we dined in there this evening. All we can say is ‘wow!’ The Detroit style pizzas were simply amazing. We ordered two personal size Detroit pizzas and 6 buffalo wings. The pizzas tasted amazing and the crusts were cooked perfectly. We left two hours ago and we’re still raving about it. The wings were good as well.. plenty of chicken on them and their buffalo sauce is really good.. not too vinegary.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Detroit-themed decor was fun to look at. Being from there originally, it felt nostalgic.

Quaint little place filled with Detroit memorabilia. We googled this place and we were not disappointed. Motown music playing in the background and the smell of fresh ingredients. It was empty when we walked in around dinnertime, but quickly filled up with patrons. Seemed like we were late to know about this hidden gem. Got home and ate….Delicious. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I eat pizza almost every Friday night. We decided to try Sapore Detroit Style Pizzeria this week, and boy, it did not disappoint! The crust is deep-dish perfection, the cheese isn’t mozzarella but a buttery brick cheese from Detroit, and the sauce is on top. The sauce is so flavorful I could eat it by itself with a spoon, and it’s not a heavy sauce. The pepperonis were perfectly cooked, with curled, crispy edges. On top of all that, we were well taken care of by the staff. We stayed there to eat, and the restaurant is very nicely decorated, but next time I plan on swinging by to pick up so we can enjoy it during movie night. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should! I’m ruined for all other pizza places we’ve been to so far!

The gluten free pizza and garlic bread are both SO AMAZING. Honestly, they’re both better than a lot of glutenous options. The owner also came out and personally asked each of the tables how their experiences were while we were here. It is a level of excellence that you don’t often see.

I’ve had Chicago & NY style but when I saw this sign go up and read Detroit style I was intrigued. It did not disappoint! Different for sure but the crust was so fluffy and delicious! While I waited I enjoyed a delicious grape soda, so definitely recommend those too! We tried different pizzas and they were delicious, but the wings were also great. Will be definitely coming back!
