This place was perfect. My friend talked about it so much and said “we’re going here!” Then she ordered the Birria Pizza. I was skeptical because…what?!?? The first bite…I knew what she was raving about! It was perfect even without dipping! The costumer service was spot on and attentive. There was plenty of parking. We spent $80 for 6 people! We all left full with to go boxes. The next time I’m in town…I’m going back!

This is an outstanding authentic Mexican restaurant with delicious food and awesome service. Everything was so good, and they keep this place very clean. The server was so nice and professional and very prompt with refilling our drinks. This place is easy to find using Google Maps with plenty of free parking around their parking lot.

The tacos were expertly seasoned, juicy, flavorful meat and I wanted to drink that consomme! The michelada was tangy and so refreshing! Looking forward to many many repeat visits!

Awesome carnitas! I ordered steak tacos and carnitas, Mexican style, and they were all delicious, but the carnitas were excellent! I also had horchata – it was enormous! The staff is very nice, the food is delicious, and the service was great. The food came out very quickly and the portions are generous. There’s a salsa bar with several different salsa options, jalapenos, radishes, cucumbers, etc. so you can customize how you’d like to top your food. I was in town for work, and will absolutely be back during future visits. I would absolutely recommend El Paisano!

This place is such a hit or miss with the food quality. Sometimes you go and its fantastic well flavored. Then other times like last night, the Al pastor tasted like they didn’t clean their grill this week. With dry limes that I literally squeezed 2 drops of juice from. Honestly this Al pastor was so terrible I doubt if I’ll be back. I had to rinse my mouth out and chew gum to get what ever trash they used and called meat.

I ordered to go and the food was hot and fresh. The chips and salsa were good and the salsa was a little under halfway full in the container. The tacos were ok. I would try this place again but definitely something different and the customer service was great.

This place was great when it was inside the El Paisano grocery store, and it’s even better now that they’ve got more space.
The molcajete was excellent, it’s a mixed grill platter with salsa Verde served in a sizzling hot granite molcajete, with rice, beans, and several garnishes on the side. Every item in it was great on its own but the mixture of them all together was better than the sum of its parts. There’s also a salsa bar with plenty of options for other sauces and pickled chiles as well
Service was just as good as the food, our server was friendly and attentive and the food and drinks arrived quickly. Wish we could get Mexican food this good on the west side!

Hands down the best Mexican food Ive found in Evansville. I got the Quesa Birria tacos and my girlfriend got a steak burrito. We both loved our food, and the chips and salsa.
They also have a grocery store down the street that has great ingredients and produce.

Ever since I went on vacation in Florida last year, I’ve been trying to find authentic Birria tacos. I’ve tried multiple places here in town that haven’t hit my taste buds yet, and I finally found this restaurant. This place has the best Birria tacos, and from now on, it will be my go-to place to eat!
