Since the opened I never had a use with this restaurant but lately it seems like the owners have gotten cocky and forgot they’re are a mom and pop shop and not a corporate restaurant. The employees and owner are really rude but the food was good so whatever. They packed my order for pick up to the brim of the single paper bag and were astonished that it broke right in front of the store. Didn’t even past the front door. And suddenly it’s my fault. I’m not sure what restaurant would use one bag for a packed order and then blame me and give me a hard time. Right as mine spilled all over the floor. So crazy another customers did too. If you know the bag is cheap, double bag it and if it breaks don’t ask like you’re shocked and rude. They expected me to clean it up too. Yeah no, food quality went down anyways. 2 Brothers in Paterson is way better and they have authentic desserts too.

When I order to take out from this place, the guy taking my order ask me what temperature I wanted my milanesa de chicken!!! Seems like he has no certification to handle food, when I went to pick up my food they don’t even have a parking space yet their food is very expensive, lastly and the most annoying thing was that when I paid with my card “automatically” I was charged $2.00 tip, something I DID NOT choose on the options, what I did was to choose print on the receipt to see the charges and that is how I found out, I told the lady and she claimed that I most’ve click it by mistake which is BS, so I don’t plan to go there again any time soon mi first time and my last.
For those who consume from that place be aware of that credit card machine it likes to “automatically” charge for tip

I was in the mood for Peruvian food and ordered the chicken fried rice by phone. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a cute, small restaurant. I was greeted and told the man my name. My food was ready and I paid and left. When I ate the food was very good. There was plenty and it was seasoned great. I enjoyed it.

I had a terrible experience at Santa Brasa Real Peru (1291 Main St., Clifton, NJ), and I won’t be coming back. First, they don’t serve tap water—you’re forced to buy bottled water or another drink. On top of that, they charge for takeout containers without telling you upfront. I only found out when I got the bill.

To make matters worse, gratuity was already included in the check, which they also failed to mention. When I asked about these extra charges, the manager, Jenny, was extremely unprofessional and acted like this was completely normal and justified. Instead of addressing the issue properly, she was dismissive and condescending.

I’m originally from Clifton and have tried plenty of Peruvian restaurants in the area, and I can confidently say this place isn’t special. If you want better food and service, you’re better off heading to one of the great Peruvian spots in Passaic instead. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers.

1/5 stars – never again.

This newly-opened family restaurant has authentic Peruvian cuisine! They have a great selection of food — so you’re sure to find something you’ll like. My friend is a vegetarian & she loved the fact that they had options for her!

I had the Lomo Saltado which is a stir fry of seasoned top sirloin, onions & tomatoes. It came with rice & homemade fries. It was very flavorful by itself, but it also pairs really well with their mild sauce — which made my meal even more delicious! My friend had the Vegetarian Arroz Chaufa and she really enjoyed it. The serving sizes were pretty decent too. My friend even had to take part of her food to-go.

Everyone was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant even has genuine Peruvian decoration and good music. Overall, it was a great experience & REALLY good food!! Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Decided on takeout from Santa Brasa over the weekend while craving some Peruvian food.

Starting with the Lomo Saltado, the meat was tender, juicy beef with exquisite seasoning. However, the fries underneath suffer from sogginess, suggesting a need for separate serving to maintain crispiness.

The Chicken Chaufa, a Peruvian fried rice variant, offers delightful flavors despite slight oversalting. Unfortunately, the flan dessert disappoints with its dense, eggy texture lacking caramel notes.

Overall, while the entrees excel, separating meat from fries in takeout orders could enhance the Saltado experience.

Update- Got it again today, the Chaufa is consistently salty. Lowering the salt 20-30% would be good. The salt really builds up and makes the dish hard to finish.

The food was good, but the owner’s treatment of the staff was upsetting. The waitress accidentally made a pricing error, and the owner wanted her to pay for the difference out of her own pocket. It really showed a lack of regard for the employees—came across as greedy. I’m not going back .
Watch out for the prices !
By the way , the charged you for “to go containers “.

The food was delicious. I’m usually not a huge fan of Peruvian food but every dish here was good and filling. Unfortunately, I have to deduct 2 stars for the service. Our waitress was kind and amicable but I think we spent about 30 minutes actually eating and about 1.5 hours just waiting. Waiting for the waitress, waiting for the drinks, waiting for the food, and even waiting for the check. I felt like we were playing the waiting game. Perhaps they were just severely understaffed the night we came but it’s not something I can let slide. Aside from that, everything else was good.

My husband and I were craving Peruvian and tried Santa Brasa for the first time. We loved the authentic feel and family run business. We ordered half rotisserie chicken, anticuchos chicken kabob, a small side of maduros, and a alfajor cookie for takeout. The restaurant was pretty busy so the wait was pretty long. It was definitely worth the wait though. Everything was super flavorful and tender. I recommend calling ahead when ordering take out to avoid the wait. Also there is only street parking so it can be difficult.

Yeas ago this was the most amazing food I’ve had. I recommended so many people here. Last two times the food was horrible. No flavor, nothing like the food I fell in love with. So sad to see what once was the best drop the ball so hard
