Dinner service was excellent. The silo bar was the place to be and fills up quick after 6. As a non local it was nice seeing the rapport and friendliness the bartenders have with their customers. Added an extra layer to the atmosphere.
If you can catch the sunset view from their outside seating area, I highly recommend it. Some of the firepit chairs need replaced and there were a crazy amount of corn flies.
I ordered the Sandy Sampler and I gotta say, the 13hr smoked meats were divine. No sauce needed but if you are a sauce lover they had three varieties, all paired great.
Drink is a whiskey lemonade that I ordered twice cause it was that good. If you like whiskey sours, you’ll like the lemonade.
Dessert Brown Butter Cake. The candied pecans, the cold creamy vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce – superb. Great way to end a delicious meal.
So much parking, they have an orchard for any overflow.

Sorry to say they have declined to a meal under Grecian! Once my favorite smoked Ribeye!
And wonderful sides. Now only to pay for a meat with sides extra. No baked potatoes. One listed on menu…..only to be told they were out at 6:40 and open at 5:00. On a Saturday night!

Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday and they were doing a buffet. The spread was fresh and clean. The fried chicken and catfish were the stars. They were so well done with the breading and the chicken was juicy. The service was outstanding. Would definitely go there again for some southern comfort food.

To sum it up – DO NOT EAT HERE.
Here’s why :
Service – the service was terrible. They stuck us in a dark spot away from view because we were dressed differently ( we had been driving for forever due to us being on vacation for our first anniversary of being married ). They proceeded to do the same thing to another couple that had sweatpants on. They didn’t give us any refills . We had to physically walk up and get them ourselves. They didn’t even tell us pricing just sat us down and left rudely. The waitress, seating hostess, AND the owner all three walked by and all three ignored us like we didn’t exist. The entire 55 minutes we were there they spoke to us a total of 1 time and that was to seat us. Upon check out they didn’t even ask how the food was . I’ve never felt so shamed at a restaurant. I attempted to talk to the waitress about it and she said “so sorry”….while entering another person’s receipt and never even looked up at me while saying sorry.
Food-
Food was subpar. The food is SEVERELY overpriced for pillsbury products and bulk bought Gordon’s food. I expected more from this place. Total let down. Nothing about this place is unique but the structure of the restaurant.
To the team there, respectfully get your stuff together because no matter how people are dressed or how they look, they deserve your respect. The people you serve ( return customers and new) are your livelihood and if this is how you treat everyone you won’t be in business long.

You won’t be disappointed with Sandy Ridge Smokehouse! It’s very unique for its area in a very rural part of Missouri. It is operated in what appears to be an old renovated house with an added grain bin bar area. Some of the tables have actual grain, such as soybeans and corn, in them. They have a lovely outdoor seating area complete with a stage for local musicians to come and play on the weekends. We have been back several times and everything we have had has been delicious!

I ordered the smoked chicken. Got a small leg and thigh and the skin was so burnt it wasn’t edible.plus to get sides you are forced to order the salad bar,they no longer have appetizers and no sides with meats unless you get the salad bar. Most of the salad toppings were empty and potatoes and other sides were dried out. Not a good place to eat anymore

This restaurant is a gem…from the great food, wonderful staff, and gracious owner, to his unique decorating style. The building, including the dining tables, are constructed with different woods. Each with its own story and where the wood came from. This restaurant includes a beautiful outside sitting area including a fire pit and stage for bands.
The owner came to our tables to assure we were taken care of and our food was delicious. Sandy Ridge Smokehouse is a must if you are near East Prairie MO
