If you’re looking for great food, warm service, and an amazing view in Batangas, this is the place. Our family merienda last December 28 was exceptional. From comforting dishes like Filipino Spaghetti, Bolognese, Carbonara, Lomi, and their delicious croissants (the Chocolate Tablea is a must-try) to simple yet memorable treats like fried camote and banana split.
What truly sets Sandtrap Café apart is the breathtaking view of Mount Malarayat, paired with kind and welcoming staff. Even with limited coffee options that day, the brewed coffee was excellent. This place is one of the reasons we’ll keep coming back to Lipa. Perfectly capturing the spirit of “Eat. Love. Pray. Lipa.” My family truly enjoyed the experience, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.
Typical looking cafe for a clubhouse. There is a wide array of food available.
Food is hit or miss and the hits are definitely the Laing and the Binagoongan.
We also tried their pastries. The tablea croissant is good. The chocolate is a bit on the sour side but eating it with the Meringue topping balances it out.
The croissants have good layers and very buttery.
The staff also are hit or miss.
They are very nice but not so attentive.
For the number of waitstaff, it was a bit difficult to get their attention.
The service was top-notch – attentive, accommodating, and genuinely friendly. Our server was knowledgeable and happy to answer all our questions, making sure we felt right at home.
But the real star of the show was the food! Oh, the food! We ordered a variety of dishes, and every single one was a winner. The bulalo was rich and flavorful, unlike any other I’ve had before. The sisig was still soft and delicious even when cold – impressive! The adobo was tender and perfectly cooked, while the pinakbet was a pleasant surprise – I don’t usually enjoy it, but this was exceptional. And the carbonara? Perfectly balanced flavors without being overwhelming.
I also had the pleasure of trying their cafe latte, which was rich and satisfying, and the melon shake, which was refreshing and perfect for hot days.
The only minor hiccup was a miscalculation of our senior citizen discount, but it was quickly resolved, and it didn’t affect our overall experience.
All in all, Sandtrap Café is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a peaceful atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
We ordered the Callos, Bagnet, Salad, 2 Cucumber and 1 Mango.
Bagnet was tender. So despite the fact that they would only serve you 4 to 5 thin slices, it made up with the taste naman.
Callos was a no-no. For a 600+ amount, I expected much but it just tasted like a Century Tuna, mechado flavor
Salad was good, especially the dressing!!
The food was delicious, but we found the servings to be a bit small for our group. It left us wanting a little more, especially since we were celebrating a special occasion.
The staff was generally polite, but it was sometimes difficult to get their attention, likely because there was an event happening during our visit, which made the cafe busier than usual.
On the plus side, the bakery attached to the cafe was a treat! They offer freshly baked breads and croissants that are worth trying, and they added a sweet note to our experience.
Overall, the place has potential, but a few tweaks in service and portions would make it even better.
I highly recommend this place!
Sandtrap Cafe is a great place to celebrate special occasions! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for gatherings with family and friends. The food was delicious, and the service was truly exceptional—everyone was so warm, attentive, and accommodating. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!
