My family dropped in to Sand’s on a Monday at 9:30am. We were treated like wonderful guests by the professional staff. I ordered the Meat Lover’s Scramble with fried potatoes. My family ordered pancakes and french toast. Everything was in huge portions, and satisfied immensely! I even have leftovers! The staff and atmosphere were so great, much like going home. I highly recommend a meal at Sand’s!

Fantastic! Looks a bit rough from the outside but breakfast was delicious and priced great for all you get, my breakfast (photo) was $12.99, you can not beat that deal, my wife had pancakes and said they were great! So glad we found this place on our travels!

This is a quaint little place off the beaten path.
It has the feel of a vintage diner mixed with a little country.
The staff was very friendly. They are a cash only establishment but have an ATM.
I ordered coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon, and a peach waffle. The waffle is NO joke it’s not a wimpy waffle! The eggs were done right and the bacon was perfect. I’ll return when I’m in the area.

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast on our way through town. Great home-cooked food, comfortable setting and friendly service. The facilities are clean and well-kept. Nice place to stop in for good comfort food.

Sand’s Pancake House has been a staple in Cape Girardeau for decades. I can remember going for breakfast at the old establishment on N. Kingshighway. The food was always delicious and always fresh. It was a smoking restaurant back in the day, so it could get a bit overwhelming at times. When they moved into their current location, we were living out of town. Whenever we would come to visit family, we always went to Sand’s for breakfast and occasionally lunch. Our most recent visit was on New Year’s Day and they were slammed. They seemed to be short staffed, with only two on the floor working the tables and the register. Despite that, they knocked it out of the park. They were super friendly, and given the amount of people dining, were as fast as they could be. My wife and I both had the “Good Morning Special” and we both agreed that the food was amazing! The portions are large, so if you’re hungry then this is your place. Their pancakes are larger than the plate, which is great! Sand’s is what it is: a diner. Good home cooking, friendly staff, and plenty of options on the menu to satisfy most anyone. We will continue to do our monthly Sunday breakfast and will always bring friends who are in from out of town. Note: They are a cash only establishment. They do have an ATM on-site.

I wish I could give this place less than one star. There were several confederate flags around the building. The people were racist and the building was small.
Are you seriously telling people to not be disrespectful to the staff when the staff won’t give their customers the same respect. No one should feel unsafe in a breakfast restaurant

Sand’s is truly a hidden gem in downtown Cape Girardeau. Whether you are looking for a late breakfast after a long night or wanting to take your family to the best breakfast in town, Sand’s is your place! Just be sure to bring cash or use their ATM to pay the bill and tip the waitress.

First time here. Came in at 7:30, ordered one plate for me and my daughter to share. Very frustrating to wait 45 minutes and watching people who came in after us getting served the same food before us.
Food wasn’t even good, pancakes had a weird burnt flavor, bland eggs, sausage patties were dry and crumbly. Not worth going back.
