We came in after a fishing excursion on the water as I was craving some southern food. My family and I were amazed, everything we ordered was so delicious and flavorful. Staff were so kind, offering extra gravy or sauce, and were very attentive and sweet. The fried chicken was fried so well, with the batter just thick enough for a crunch, but did not overpower with the breading. I recommend the smoked chicken, with extra sauce on the side. I’ve never had anything like it. For dessert we got banana pudding and peach cobbler. I normally do not eat pie or dessert but I found myself finishing both for my table! The peach cobbler was soft, mildly sweet, with a caramelized crust that gave the best crunch. The banana pudding tasted fresh, was not cloying, and most importantly tasted like real banana. Will definitely be back when we find ourselves out here. Much love from San Francisco ♡

We loved our experience here tonight. It was our first time and our Godson’s umpteenth time eating there. Wayne was kind and accommodating, as he is anywhere, and Kelsi was a joy to watch as she took care of the customers. The atmosphere is delightfully simple. Nothing matches and I love it. Plenty of art to look at as well.

Hidden gem!!! Best southern/ soul food we had on our Savannah Vacation!! Superb service too! We loved the way there was limited menu and after we ordered at the register and sat down, the food was there in less than 2 minutes!! Very savory! The staff is the family that owns the restaurant and they were friendly and very happy to chat about the food! May even schedule a trip back this way just to enjoy this spot again!!

I’ve been wanting to come here after seeing such great reviews from friends and today I finally did! The service was friendly, the decor is southern and charming, food was delicious! I started off with the mini peach cornbread (a must try) then I had the fried chicken, baby limas and mashed potatoes! All seasoned perfectly. I ended with the banana pudding (owners mom’s recipe) and it was perfect!
Will 100% be back

The food was AMAZING!!! Best meal in Savannah – it’s outside of the town. A great spot to get away from the hustles of downtown. They made the best peach cobbler and you’ve got to try the banana cobbler. The food came out quick and hot. My husband & I shared 3 plates! It’s a must if you’re in Savannah!

If you are looking for food the way grandmother cooked it, then this is your place. Everyone is extremely friendly and the food is some of the best that I have ever had. I had the pot roast with carrots and potatoes. They were probably the best that I have ever had. My wife got the fried flounder with chicken and dumplings. She said that her’s was excellent too. Then, to top it off we had Banana pudding which was excellent too. I highly recommend that you try them out if you are looking for great food that is very affordable.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! I hadn’t even heard of them until a few weeks ago. My office had lunch catered by them and we were all so impressed with the food. Finally, something different than chicken fingers and a side of potatoes. The food was absolutely delicious! They also catered a family wedding that I attended and all of the guests were very pleased with everything served! The quality was just as delicious despite the huge amount served, and that isn’t always the case with every restaurant. All of the staff were so great as well. I reached out (after Thanksgiving orders were already closed) to ask if they could please let me know if anyone cancels. They were so gracious to take on my order even though they were already booked. Their staff is wonderful and they were excellent in communicating with me. Give this place a try! It’s definitely a gem that Savannah needed!

Everything about this hidden gem is wonderful! The food was amazing-all homemade, seasoned perfectly, and tasty! The service was spot on, refreshing our drinks quickly (even though the place was lunchtime busy!), served and placed in front of us by the chef himself! And the little peach muffins are to die for!!! Great southern food served with good ole southern hospitality! Highly recommend!

My husband and I were riding through the area and stopped here for lunch. Delicious. You order and the counter and then grab a seat where a basket of fresh peach cornbread was waiting. Everything was so yummy. I had limas over rice, chicken tenders and hubby had 2 pc chicken with collards and fried okra. We left a little room for the banana pudding which was ridiculously amazing. If we lived in the area we would definitely be regulars. Also loved the team atmosphere where all the staff helped each other out.

Oh my goodness!!! I have not had better “real Southern” good since my Nana passed! The food here is deliciously authentic! The fried chicken and the meatloaf were great but the true stars of this little hot spot are the vegetables! Great variety-seasoned perfectly! Everything took me back to my childhood! I highly recommend everyone visit Sandfly Soul Food-you’ll be glad you did!
