I appreciated the large craft beer selection – I tried two local hazy IPAs for about $9 each, which felt fairly standard.
The southwest chimi egg rolls were quite good but expensive for the size.
The fish sandwich (w sweet potato fries) was a pretty reasonable price. The fish was cooked very well and the fries were good. Disappointingly we had actually ordered the fish melt and were brought the wrong entree, but we just rolled with it.
The waitress was very nice and besides that mistake service was good.

Popped in for some lunch so visited at a quiet time. Large choice of beers on the menu and it was Taco Tuesday so had a threesome of tacos which were all great and amazing value ($2.50 each) so splashed out on a portion of fries…and there was a lot of fries. Friendly service, imagine this place is fun later on in the evening so will be back to find out

Foods ok, service ok, good restaurant choice if you’re a middle class person like myself. Everything else in the area seems like it’s pretty expensive like 30+ a meal, but this place is reasonable sports bar. I had the wings Joey style. They’re pretty decent. I would order them again. Service is kind of iffy. Happy hour is pretty good. I think it runs till seven and I think it’s 50% off draft beers.

Met a couple of regular characters at the bar who were very entertaining.

If you’re a fan of mahi fish tacos, this spot is an absolute must-visit! I’ve been indulging in their tacos since 2006, and they are the sole reason I ever find myself there. While the menu boasts a variety of delicious items, it’s the mahi fish tacos that keep me coming back.

Having lived in Miami and traveled to various states and countries, I’ve made it a point to visit this place whenever I can. Whether it’s ordering 3-6 tacos with fries and savoring every bite outside or making a special trip, these tacos never disappoint.

A memorable moment was during my pregnancy in 2018. I drove my Lexus from Maryland to Coconut Grove just to satisfy an intense craving for these tacos. I called ahead to ensure they’d be open and have my order ready, and though it felt a bit crazy at the time, leaving there so happy and full was worth every mile!

Even though I thought they might have closed permanently during and after COVID, I was thrilled to return in December 2021 and find them open. I can’t wait for my next I hope it’s around forever so that I can take my grandchildren one day when I am old!

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.
We ordered a pitcher of beer that was served warm. After requesting ice, it took over 30 minutes to arrive. We then placed our food order, only to be told 30 minutes later that the item we ordered was out of stock.

After reordering we waited an hour for the replacement to arrive — and it never did. We had no choice but to leave.

To make an already unacceptable situation worse. This place shows zero regard for basic service, food safety, or customers, dirty bathrooms. Long delays, poor communication, unsanitary conditions, and complete incompetence from start to finish.

We did speak to others who were dinning at the restaurant and they did advice us that they had received a dead roach in there food. This was a disgusting and unacceptable experience, and we will never return. I strongly advise others to stay far away.

I haven’t been here in several years. It used to be one of my sports bars and I wanted to eat here for old times sake. I made an excellent decision. Today was Taco Tuesday which made me very excited as I love tacos. We started with drinks. I had a Kentucky Mule and my wife had a Cat 3 Hurricane. We skipped appetizers and went straight for lunch. I had two fried mahi-mahi fish tacos. My had the sizzlin’ tequila fajitas with yellow rice and black beans. The tacos were really good but those fajitas were exceptional. Between the two of us, we finished everything with no room for dessert. Glad we came here for lunch. Our waitress Zuly was really nice, helpful, and attentive. She checked on us often, made some good meal recommendations, and really seemed to care about us having an enjoyable meal. We will definitely be back soon.

For Sports Grill, I really enjoyed myself. I ordered a Funky Buddha Floridian and Philly Phanatics w/ Tater Tots. The Philly was bigger and tastier than I expected it to be. I can never go wrong with a Floridian.

Outdoor was perfect. On their patio people watching was perfect. People are very entertaining. My server was sweet. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her. For an appetizer I ordered chips with salsa, pico de gallo and guac. While the dips were delicious the chips tasted a bit stale.

That wouldn’t stop me from revisiting the place.

I have been to the Sandbar a bunch and love it. The wings are great. I like Joey’s style (back on the grill). The food is good, plentiful. The drinks are cold. They love dogs! which is cool. Long live the Sandbar!
