Someone stated if you’re not a local…I’m not a local. However I have been frequenting this place for a few weeks and it’s definitely friendlier to the regular crew. Foods decent, atmosphere is good, but service, specifically at night, is biased for sure.

Sat there for 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. Only one other customer was there. The bartender didn’t acknowledge us, was doing something on his phone. Website said happy hour started at 3:30, we were informed when the bartender finally got to our table that it didn’t start until 4. Can’t rate the food, we left after one drink.

Nice place. We checked out a couple of the local bars in Newport in search for good bar food. Gave this one a go. Customer service was basic.

Food was not bad nor great. The broth for my dip was served old used clam chowder container. I’m all about recycling. But any cook should know this is not okay. For one its plastic it absorbs the smell of what product was already in it also if some one had an allergy this would be a risk overall This is gross. So outside of the fishy aju and reused container and basic customer service. The food was low grade bar food. I’m glad we tried it. But. Will not return. For a meal to feed two under 20.00 is what your looking for and food quality doesn’t matter. This is a good spot to stop.

It seems to be a very nice place to have fun with your friends. The bartenders are friendly and serve a nice drink.
I have eaten here while on my lunch break from work. The only place in town that puts real cheese on your hamburger, which, in my opinion, is the only way to make a cheeseburger! I shall return.

The Sandbar & Grill is a local dive right smack in the middle of the NYE beach strip. Came in for tacos and wasn’t disappointed. Great variety of street taco style tacos available. Service is a bit awkward and not the quickest I’ve ever experienced. Like so many dives there is a background aroma of urinal cake. You gotta take the good with the bad.
