We went here as a family to try some new flavors and this place did not disappoint. We got the butter chicken, chicken biryani, chicken curry, traditional samosas, mango lassi, and brownie. The butter chicken was amazingly flavorful, however the biryani was a little under my expectations. The chicken curry tasted pretty good. Samosas were delicious and warm. The brownie tasted okay but the way it was served was weird (it was on a hot plate and the chocolate sauce got burnt). Overall, very nice place with friendly staff and good food. I highly recommend. Also they have halal meat

We chose this restaurant mainly because we were in the mood for Indian food and it had a solid 4.6 rating. Upon arrival, the staff—especially the person in charge—struggled to find seating for our group of six. After some effort and rearranging, two tables were joined and we were finally seated and placed our order.
The appetizer was enjoyable, but the main course was just average. Service was a bit slow, and we were surprised by a surcharge for paying with a credit card, which wasn’t communicated in advance.
Overall, the experience wasn’t great—though I suppose I should be thankful they didn’t charge for water.

The food was delicious! It was my first time trying Indian food and it was amazing! I got some kind lamb meat with a green sauce on the side but it was so good. Their tandoor chicken was delicious as well. But my favorite was their garlic naan bread! If you come here, you should definitely try their garlic naan bread!

We had lunch here recently on our small vacation trip. The guy Om at the front desk was very courteous and welcoming to my family. The place has its own parking lot and plenty of parking spaces. The dine in area was very well kept and decorated. We had their Goat biriyani, Chicken Tikka masala butter chicken, kabob, garlic naan and Mango Lassi. The Goat biriyani was the highlight of our lunch and it was delicious. Overall can’t complain about the food there. Om was very understanding and able to make a masala tea (special order) for me on our road trip. Definitely a go to spot for our Indian food cravings in the area.

I was completely unaware we had a new restaurant in town, and was surprised to find out it was an Indian one! I don’t think we’ve ever had an Indian restaurant here (though there is a local pizza place that offers some Indian dishes) so I was excited to try them. I don’t do well with high amounts of spice, so I choose items that I thought were low or no spice. I was wrong. Both items were SO spicy. Even my roommate, who loves to put hot sauce on everything, said my food was very spicy. I got samosas and stuffed mushrooms. When I ordered the samosas, I asked to only be given the potato ones and made it a point to request no jalapeno ones. They gave me jalapeno anyway. I only realized after I had already eaten one and ended up running to my fridge to chug some milk. The actual construction of the samosas was decently done, and they were fried well. Very crispy! The phyllo of the outer shell was weirdly thick, and my roommate commented that it felt a bit like chewing on a small pot pie. The jalapeno samosa I accidentally ate was very spicy, and the potato one was only slightly less spicy. My roommate said the samosas were a 3 out of 5 for them. If it wasn’t for the high spice, it would be the same for me. I also got the Tandoor Grilled Stuffed Mushrooms. These were insanely juicy, but so much so that they were a knife edge away from being soggy. These were also extremely spicy. The sauce put on the mushrooms had a very strong kick, enough so that my roommate was even asking for a glass of milk! I scraped off the sauce, but they were still too spicy. These were a solid 3 out of five for both of us. My roommate (who ended up eating the rest because I literally couldn’t) said they really disliked the random huge chunks of bell pepper and onion that were included in the box. They said it felt like they added a bunch of plate garnish to hide how many mushrooms you’re actually getting. The gulab jamun was pretty good, but a bit expensive for what you get. You get four doughnut holes that have been soaked in a sugar syrup for $7. Again, they were tasty, but not for that price. My entire order, for these three items, was $40.
Also, the online ordering system they have is a bit of a nightmare. I originally attempted to make a delivery order using the “Seamless” ordering site they offer and it ended up adding an extra $25 in fees. The delivery option attempted to force a $10 tip, no matter how much or little the order total was. I decided to switch to Pick Up, still on their online ordering page, and it still tried to force that $10 tip. I ended up having to call in my order the old-fashioned way, which was a bit of a headache in itself. I mean no offense to whoever picked up the phone, but it was impossible to understand them. The mixture of them talking too fast and being drowned out by the volume of the restaurant in the background, I was struggling to understand anything they said to me.
Overall, all of this culminates in a solid three out of five stars for me. People who love spicy food will like this place much more than I did. I will admit, that I am a bit of an idiot for assuming that anything at an Indian restaurant would have a low spice level. But again, didn’t really expect something like stuffed mushrooms or samosas to be so spicy I ran for a glass of milk and ended up drinking the entire quart.

Absolutely phenomenal Indian food – a must-visit!
As someone who grew up in India and now lives in Philly, I can confidently say Sandalwood serves some of the most authentic and delicious Indian food I’ve had in the U.S. – better than any Indian restaurant I’ve tried in Philly. Every dish we ordered was exceptional: the butter chicken, chili chicken (hands down the best I’ve had in the States), chicken noodles, tandoori chicken, garlic shrimp, samosas, and paneer tikka – all bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. Truly a gem near Wildwood. Highly recommend!

We found this gem after a menu was placed in our mailbox. I’m so glad we tried it. The food is fresh, traditional Indian food. The service was great and the prices are competitive. I only wish I thought to take a pic of our appetizer. We will definitely be going back.

Flavorful, comforting food, perfect for a cold day. I had the yellow dal, which came with a side of rice. I ordered it with a “medium spice” level, which was just right for me. Just be careful, some of the items marked “vegan” on the menu are actually only vegetarian and contain milk. But our server was able to suggest a dairy-free option, and I was very happy with the meal.

The food here is absolutely phenomenal. My meal here rivaled any Dal I’ve ever had in my life and this guy loves his Dal. Anyone who left a negative review is most likely a gooner by my estimation. Please come and watch here if you like authentic Indian food !!

Great service, awesome food. The mango lassi had a nice bit of spice, maybe cardamom, running through it. The pakora, naan, roti, chicken Tikka masala, basmati rice, and Gulab Jamun were all fantastic. The star of the show was the butter paneer masala, absolutely the best I’ve ever had. It was so flavorful, really truly phenomenal. I’m in Cape May for 6 more days and I expect we will be back before we go.
