Absolutely amazing restaurant. It is truly an authentic Mexican restaurant! I’m only sad that I won’t be able to eat here again since I stopped here while passing through on the Alaska Highway. We were lucky to grab a table without a reservation, 100% recommend a reservation! They were accommodating since they had the space and were very clear about when we needed to be done. But it was 90 minutes! That was more than enough time to enjoy our meal. Limited days and hours (especially for lunch), so make sure to check that.

Had a very nice dinner here. Love the atmosphere and all the decorations. The staff are super nice as well. Food was really good! Recommend the ceviche!

Service was very good, fresh food at very reasonable prices. I had the “Gringa” with steak and the enchiladas with chicken, sauces were full of flavour and the food was very delicious. A “ must try” if you come to Whitehorse for a visit.

The best mexican food north of British Columbia! This authentic Mexican spot stands out for their traditional dishes and daily house specials (quite hard to find in this latitude). What I admired the most is the attention to detail for the best experience: beautiful decor and atmosphere, maximum sanitary measures (cleanest washroom in Whitehorse!) and top notch customer service! Thank you for an excellent evening!

Pretty good Mexican food for a restaurant this far north. The decor is fun with a large selection of Mexican curios adorning the walls. The ambiance is fun, and very loud. Not a good place for a date, you will have to shout in order to be heard. They have a nice selection of food on the menu. I had the halibut. It was done well and I enjoyed it. The black beans were also done well and topped with a cheese. The salad was fresh. Some things to know 1) they don’t bring you chips and salsa (I’ve been to hundreds of Mexican restaurants and this is normal for sit down restaurants, not sure why sanchez doesn’t) 2) the waitress switched 3x on us and was very slow to take our order 3) they don’t bring you tortillas standard with your meal. Most Mexican restaurants will always bring you tortillas. This was slightly disappointing.

Difficult review for me to write without a bias. I think this is a good spot but it’s missing some key Mexican dishes for me to say it would be a 5 star place elsewhere but in Whitehorse and without another Mexican place this is definitely a 5 star place . The execution of the dishes is excellent and the meal is authentic and could go against any other Mexican restaurants in large cities. I also would love it to be open on Sundays for some hangover style foods mexico has like a pozole or barbacoa tacos. I guess I cannot hold that against them but if you want to make me and others fanatics of your restaurant open Sunday and maybe expand the menu to include some key dishes. I would kill for Barbacoa, Choriqueso or Al pastor tacos. Maybe even some menudo or elotes/esquites in a cups for special occasions.

Enjoyed an evening meal on the patio at this charming, delicious cantina. Started with chorizo queso and the salsa which were both delicious. The roasted salsa for my American friends is a more blended salsa while the other is more pico. The steak burrito was excellent as was the traditional margarita. Casandra was helpful, engaging, and efficient. Highly recommend.
