Visiting Panama City Beach from Texas, great place to stop by during our week long visit. Good family place with solid Mexican options. Also fits our clean eating search since you can have delicious grilled chicken, fresh guacamole, and other dishes. Solid 10/10 from this gal.

Called in an order and was told food will be ready in 5-10 mins which I knew wasn’t realistic. When I got there I kept getting told the food will be out in 5-10 mins once again. I waited almost an hour for my food only for it to be wrong. They didn’t give me my tenders on the sampler and the veggie fajita rice were full of just onions, some peppers and jalapenos. I ate the nachos on the sampler before I realized I was missing my tenders and queso. The mozzarella sticks were hard. They don’t have sauce to go with the mozzarella sticks or the tenders. The owner was extremely rude when I told him how long I had been waiting on my food. His response was “Do you see how busy we are” and he walked off. I was visiting from Georgia and I own a business myself. First impression is everything and I definitely wouldn’t eat here again or recommend them.

The staff were very friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive, asking if the food was to our liking and if we needed anything else. Food on the other hand was pretty blah. I ordered a steak burrito and the meat was very rubbery and it had more peppers than meat. My bf ordered carne asada and although the portions were big, the meat had a lot of fat.
Definitely NOT a place I would recommend.

The servers were attentive, checking on us often. I ordered the Margarita Flight for my drinks, and they weren’t bad, but I prefer top shelf. Also, I ordered the Pina Loco w the red beans & rice. I was pleasantly surprised and also had enough for leftovers.

San Marcos Mexican Restaurant in Panama City Beach is an absolute gem! We stopped in for dinner during our visit and were blown away by the incredible flavors and top-notch service. We ordered the Camarones a la Crema and the Fish and Shrimp Dinner, and both were pure perfection. The Camarones a la Crema was a dream. The chipotle sauce was perfectly balanced, with a tangy, creamy kick that made the veggies and shrimp practically melt in your mouth. The Fish and Shrimp Dinner was equally impressive; the fish was cooked to flaky perfection, and the shrimp were seasoned so well they burst with flavor.
One thing I want to highlight is – Salsa. It lacked flavor and that punch you get in a Mexican Restaurant. Come on guys, Salsa should be the signature of any Mexican Restaurant. You can’t go wrong there.. Ask your chef to taste and update the Salsa prep.
The service was outstanding, attentive, warm and made us feel right at home. San Marcos is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, delicious Mexican food. We can’t recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and go! You won’t be disappointed.

The waitress was completely inattentive and never came to check on us. We had to search for her every time we needed something. She brought us fajitas without lime or salsa. I asked if they had green salsa, and she said yes, but it turned out to be a store-bought Herdez salsa that wasn’t spicy at all. On top of that, they charged me for it without informing me beforehand—I only noticed when I saw it on the bill!
They give you three tortillas per fajita order, but they’re store-bought, poorly microwaved, and came out hard and awful. Every time we asked the waitress for something, she made a face like it bothered her to serve us. But when I asked for the bill (yes, I had to ask for it too), she suddenly showed up immediately and returned just a few seconds later to ask if I was ready to pay. I decided to pay by scanning the QR code on the receipt.
The only person who offered to refill my drink was a young man who wasn’t even our waiter—maybe he was the manager. I came to this restaurant because of the good reviews, but it was such a disappointment!
The food was average at best, and the service was terrible. Oh, and after the chips and appetizers, we waited over 35 minutes for our food. We only got it because we asked the waitress if it was ready. When the food finally arrived, one of the guys serving us spilled the charro beans and left us with a half-filled bowl. He never replaced it! By the way, their charro beans were nothing like what they should be—just bean water with a few scattered beans.
Debut and farewell! We came from Texas, and I would never return.
