Quickly becoming my favorite Mexican food joint in the Santa Cruz area. Feels like home. Handmade tortillas, cash only, simple menu but everything is fresh and delicious. You can tell it’s super clean too. Might be the best horchata I’ve ever had. This place is the best.

Tried the Al pastor, carnitas, asada, shrimp, and one more that I can’t remember… the shrimp was the best, but all were amazing.

Perfect place to eat. Quiet. Found a table immediately. I had the Manolo’s Torta. Delicious. See the photo. My daughter chose the Carne Asada burrito. She said it was delicious. Tortillas are homemade. The place is small but very inviting. Service and food are awesome. The place is around the corner from Gayle’s Bakery and Rosticceria.

Been coming here for quite sometime. Unfortunately, today we went back and they have a new young girl working who is extremely rude for absolutely no reason. The food ordering experience was not a good one with her and then when my wife went back to purchase salsa because we love the salsa, she was rude again and would not provide what she paid for. I went back up to fix the mistake because my wife was so done with this person, I was perfectly cordial and she was extremely rude to me.
So, we will be avoiding San Marcos for now on until the teenage is replaced. Great food, but new staff member made it all taste bad.

The homemade tortillas were good. The Al pastor meat was chewy and I didn’t like the seasoning. The beans and rice were ok. It seemed like flavors or something that didn’t taste good and fresh.

Pretty good Tortas, could have used more filings, i.e. meat. The bread was really good. The tortillas (corn) are excellent, call ahead to order a dozen to go. Next time I’ll try their tacos.

*edit* taking a few stars off since the older lady made a fuss about asking for a to-go container.. very strange attitude over a container considering their prices are doubling every 6 months you would think they would be willing to give you a to-go container without questioning what you need it for and why. Weirdo. Definitely will re consider eating here as often. Bummer.

EDIT: UPDATING TO 1 STAR BECAUSE I FOUND A HAIR IN MY FOOD. Don’t think I’ll be going back.
Torta is mostly bread and beans, hardly any meat, onions or avocado. No salsa on it. Dry and unflavored carne asada. The bread itself was really good, though, and the green side salsa is fire. The rice was 5$ and she barely put any in the container. Maybe I’ll try it again on a different day, but I’m super disappointed for my first visit.

Great little spot. Wait is a little extreme because everything is made to order and homemade, down to the tortillas. But the price is great. Patio is gorgeous. If you’re in a hurry I suggest placing a phone order. The flavor and quality is unbeatable though. I honestly couldn’t even tell you of another place making handmade tortillas. It is cash only.

Hands down the best taqueria in the area. The handmade tortillas are so delicious. I always get the shrimp tacos. I tried the Huevos Rancheros today and was transported to Mexico. They had just made a fresh batch of the verde salsa, which is deliciously spicy. They also offer a red “gringo” salsa. Cash only, with mostly outdoor seating
