Reviews
I dealt with the same person as before and placed a very simple order: a whole chicken, cut in half and packed in two separate boxes, along with a small side of potato salad. I made sure to repeat my request multiple times to avoid confusion.
The menu lists a whole chicken at $15.99 and the side at $2.50—so I was expecting my total to be around $18.50 with tax. However, I was charged $35. When I questioned it, the employee claimed I had ordered a whole chicken and a half, which I had not. After some back-and-forth, he removed the extra half chicken, but the revised total still came to $25.
When I asked why it was still over $20, he casually mentioned it was extra for cutting the chicken and using an additional box—something that was never disclosed up front. Apparently, there’s a hidden $5 charge just for splitting the order. This was never communicated until after I brought it up, which feels extremely shady and deceptive.
Whether times are tough or not which he brought up, adding unannounced charges and hoping the customer won’t notice is not ethical business practice. I paid the total (including the $5 hidden fee), but I made it clear that I would not be returning. It’s sad that they’d rather try to sneak in a few extra dollars than retain a loyal customer.
To future customers: double-check your receipt and be very clear about your order. Ask about any “extra” charges up front.
This experience turned what could’ve been a go-to spot into a hard pass. Very disappointed.
