There are a lot of beautiful pictures inside the restaurant, which creates the impression of a large and diverse menu. However, the actual experience was quite different. We ordered four types of sushi, and unfortunately, they all tasted almost the same. We also ordered meat with rice everything was edible, but very bland, with no “flavor fireworks” at all. The edamame was cold, bland, unsalted, and tough. What shocked me the most was the vegetarian sushi priced at 16$ it was simply rice with avocado and carrot. For that price, you expect more balance, creativity, or at least some depth of flavor, but sadly, it wasn’t there.

This place has a fun, laid-back snowboarder vibe, but the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. The prices felt high for what you get—portions are noticeably smaller compared to most sushi spots in Vancouver. Some rolls were pretty average, though the Buddha Roll was a highlight and definitely worth ordering. The California roll might as well been from IGA, you wouldn’t tell the difference.
The rolls were loosely wrapped.
It’s an okay stop if you’re in the area, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way for.

Great sushi spot in Whistler! The food was super fresh and really well prepared, and the service was friendly and quick. Atmosphere is relaxed and casual — perfect after a day in the mountains. Will definitely come back!

The local’s spot for sushi in Whistler. It’s hard to go wrong with the “Samurai Special” – make it a sumo size if you’re hungry.
As far as Whistler eating goes, this is one of the most cost effective and best quick eats places in Whistler. If you’re expecting a Vancouver sushi experience, you’ll have to realize you aren’t in Vancouver… Same goes for fine dining sushi experiences… Go to Nagomi or Sushi village and pay twice as much if you want that. Set your expectations that you are going to get good filling food at reasonable prices, and you’ll be happy.
The addition of online ordering has been a game changer and is one of the best systems I have come across – saves time waiting in the line that usually exists.

Delicious, fast, local’s favourite. Lovely staff ❤️ recommend the spicy agedashi tofu! And the samurai special is great, sumo size it if you’re extra hungry
(pic below is the spicy agedashi tofu and a kids meal, that’s already getting devoured!)

Great sushi place that was recommended by one of our zipline guides. Good price for the quality of the food and good service as well. Its an easy place to go to after a day at the scandinave spa. They also have some gluten free options. And lastly there is a taco shop next door if you have some people wanting different food.

If you’re looking for cheap eats close to Whistler Village, Samurai Sushi is worth checking out; however, don’t expect too much in terms of taste and quality. You order by lining up and paying ahead of time. There is a separate line for take out orders. The counter person then delivers the food to you. After you finish, you’ll have to put away your own bowls in this small cramped cupboard. There is an extensive menu filled with different types of Japanese food as well as fusion food such as sushi wrapped in a flour tortilla. We were hungry but even then, we knew that the food was kind of lacking in taste and the texture for the agedashi tofu was a bit too hard.
There is lots of parking in this plaza.

The employee are not friendly to all the guests. Some get good service and some are just been left out as per their mood.
