We enjoyed most of the rolls we ordered. They are very delicious. The ramen was not the best but it wasn’t too bad either. There were a lot of uber/skip the dishes order so it gets pretty busy with only one server. People must have like them. This is a go to place if you are not in a rush yet don’t want to make a homemade meal yourself.

Sashimi was so fresh and delicious and the salmon crunch roll, the torched salmon on top – I could have devoured another plate to myself. I maye have gotten to excited to eat i was only able to get a picture of the sashimi minus one piece.
I have plans to go back and try the ramen…and more sushi!

The family came here as we were looking for a new sushi place to try. It’s a nice little restaurant in strip mall with lots of parking. It wasn’t too busy on this day and we were seated promptly.
The menu is not extensive but there was enough there for lunch. We ordered the Katana Platter, Green Salad, Vegetable Tempura, and Tonkotsu Ramen. We also had Green Tea – you order per pot and they make it for you (no tea bags). Everything tasted fresh and great. The tempura was not greasy at all. One thing to note is the rolls fell apart when picking up so not quite made firm. It didn’t change the taste though. They also gave us complimentary Motoyaki which tasted awesome!
Staff were friendly. It’s a nice little restaurant and we are glad we tried it.

It is not easy to find a place sale ramen in Calgary, those which do often taste like instant noodles.
This little place is a good surprise.
The service is very great, warm and welcoming, gives good advice and suggestions.
Food is really good here especially in Calgary Japanese cuisine circle…
It is not mind blowing but definitely not disappointing if you give a visit or two.
Nice environment, relax and peaceful, it does remind me of some small Japanese ramen place in Asia.
If you like ramen or Japanese food in general, you need to give this a try.

Had a really enjoyable experience at this little sushi place. The food was excellent and fresh. The tea was delicious. The service was lovely and the server friendly with a very calming demeanour. It was a quiet day with few patrons and I think more people need to try out this great little place. I hope you all have as nice an experience as we did.

Great food and price is good. The appetizer and ramen were amazing. The flavour of the pork meat was amazing as you can taste the sweet fattiness of it, broth was full of depth flavour season just right. Noodle has a soft chew and was perfect.

This is a great little stop for decent sushi and ramen. The service was really nice, I really liked the soft relaxing tone of the server. Nigiri was pretty good but not amazing because the slices seemed pretty thin and not perfect texture, perhaps they were a bit too warm as well (I tried tuna, scallops, hamachi). I tried the samurai ramen and it was really good! Excellent noodles and broth, good variety of toppings. The only thing I didn’t love about the ramen was the pork; it wasn’t very tender/fatty or flavourful. I’d like to come back for their seafood or other ramen dishes
Update May 2019: I tried the seafood ramen but didn’t enjoy it. It’s very spicy and the broth didn’t have anything special about it (no complexity and little seafood flavor) the seafood pieces were ok but I didn’t like them. I think if love traditional ramen with pork, then you may not enjoy seafood ramen.
Update 2024: as I’ve had more and more ramen across the city, this spot starts to look like poor value. I’ve had better broth, toppings, and noodles elsewhere for the same price . Samurai would be great if it was better value, but for $16-$17 per bowl I can’t recommend anymore. I still love the staff, they’re very kind and make me feel relaxed

Great small restaurant. Well maintained and clean. Peacefully and pleasant atmosphere. Quick and friendly service. Food is fresh and delicious. Comes with a complementary appetizer. Spicy ramen is great. For regular ramen would like to see full and softer egg. Also more flavourful and smoother broth. Good sized portions. Would come back and try their sushi.
