Came here solo for lunch, ordered chive pancakes and spicy basil fried pork lunch. All items were delicious, I couldn’t finish my food so I doggy bagged. Quick service and very attentive staff! I work in the area and this spot is perfect. In and out in 35 minutes for lunch.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review

Samsaen Thai New York is a fantastic dining experience overall. The food is 4 stars—flavorful, authentic, and well presented, with dishes that truly showcase Thai cuisine. To be fair, we were already quite full from a late lunch, so that likely affected how much we could fully enjoy the food.

What really elevates this place to 5 stars overall is the service and atmosphere. The team is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A special shoutout to Oreo, who provided exceptional service—friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive, making the whole experience feel special.

The atmosphere is lively yet comfortable, perfect for a relaxed night out. Highly recommended, and definitely a place we’d love to return to again.

Samsaen by Chef Oak is hands down one of he best Thai dining experiences in New York.
The space feels elevated yet inviting grown, stylish, and full of energy.
The Lychee Lady cocktail was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced.
The roasted bone marrow was a standout: crunchy, buttery, and deeply flavorful in one bite.
The steamed branzino served table side was a true showstopper and perfect for sharing.
The crab meat fried rice was generous and rich, with no shortage of crab.
If you’re looking for elevated Thai street food with bold flavors and impeccable presentation, Samsaen is a must visit.

Service was great! We appreciate the server oreo! Food was good, although the medium dish was not spicy enough. Also the prawn dish looked good but too hard to eat (too much work for little reward). If you want spicy make sure to let them know.

I stepped out of my comfort zone of kee Mao and Khao Soi and decided to get different things. Saman did not disappoint. We got the northern Thai herb for an app. Crispy on the outside and flavorful meat on the inside. Chinese broccoli was sauced up nicely. For mains we got Hat Yai fried chicken and baked clay pot crab. Oreo, our wonderful host, was so kind and excited to share his fav recommendation and offered us extra fried chicken for us to try. I loved his passion about this dish and it was amazing. The crab pot of house has more of a fishy taste, so if that’s not your thing avoid. But it really grew on me and I loved it. The bacon was crispy and the Szechuan chilli was a nice surprise.
Drinks were good and Thai themed.

This was some of the best thai food I’ve had in NYC-shitake spring rolls, roasted bone marrow and the crispy duck with mixed veggies were excellent! Our server Oreo was very nice and attentive. Highly recommend-this is a gem.

What a find. Mon took great care of us and we had a cute and cozy table in the back. Pad Thai with monster shrimp was great. The whole fried fish was easy to eat. All the food had the right amount of spice

As a NYC foodie, I’m always picky about Thai food—especially close to busy areas like Madison Square Garden. Before heading to a hockey game, my designer friend quickly Googled and found Samsaen, and I’m so glad he did.
We were in a rush, but from the moment we walked in, everything felt smooth and welcoming. Our waiter Oreo was incredibly friendly, warm, and knowledgeable. He suggested all the right dishes and made sure we were taken care of despite our tight schedule.
We ordered the Northern Thai sausage, the stewed pork with rice (special menu), and the vermicelli crab in a clay pot—every single dish was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the care and quality in the food.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, cozy yet stylish, and the service was truly the best—efficient, attentive, and genuinely kind.
Perfect spot for great Thai food before a game or show at MSG. I’ll definitely be back, even when I’m not in a rush.
