This is a world renowned establishment in the Maracas Bay beach area that is famous for its bake and shark and the large variety of condiments one is able to add to the sandwich. I had a bake and shark with added pineapple, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and garlic sauce. The sandwich was tasty and condiments fresh and well stocked. The service staff was courteous and efficient. The outdoor seating area was well maintained. This is a great place to enjoy a satisfying meal served by friendly staff in a picturesque beach area.

The bake and shark was a good size and they had all the essential toppings available. Overall, it was enjoyable, but nothing spectacular either; the shark wasn’t flavorful enough to stand alone. They had the longest line by far, despite everywhere around them also selling bake and shark. Locals seem to love this place. We waited at least 30 mins to order on a Saturday afternoon, but the food was ready within 60 seconds after we ordered. They are cash only, except for bottled beverages.. weird. The coconut water was clearly fresh though, and very good. They have plenty other drinks on menu (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and other fish options to go with the bake.. decent place! I’d eat it again, but probably worth trying somewhere else in the area instead of waiting in that long line.

Visited Maracus as usual and figured I would try Richard’s famous Bake n shark. The view is great of the beach, the selection of drinks amazing and even the guys helping with umberella chairs service is excellent. However, when it comes to the food, it was OK. Was not a big fan of the thick cut of shark stuffed in the bake. We dressed it well, but because the meat was so thick it took all the show but it had no flavors. They could have seasoned the shark more. Disappointed but next time, I will try something different. The chicken and fries was good.

Great place to try the famous local bake and shark. My local friends told me you can’t leave without trying their food and we made sure we went to Maracas beach to give it a try. The ladies at the counter were very helpful and nice. There were many options, such as lettuce , pineapple, peppers, variety of sauces, etc. to add to the “sandwich” you make with the fried dough and the shark.
Lovely beach setting and music. Cocktails and drinks available as well.

One of my main bucket list items when visiting Trinidad and Tobago for the first time was to have bake and shark, and was told that this place did it pretty well. It hit all the right spots, especially after a dip at the beach. The bake was crispy and fluffy, paired with the flaky fried shark, and different toppings of your choice.

Also had some shrimp, and that was bangin

Good vibes as well!

Delicious experience! Bake & Shark with all the fixings. So good. A happy place & great place to people watch. Right on Maracas Bay Beach, too! The road to get to Richard’s was a long & winding road. Fun time!

The OG Bake & Shark, Richards still holds their own among a sea of other b&s shops.

While I definitely preferred some of the other shops over Richards, they still make a mean b&s and had the best bake from everywhere we tried. The shark was actually the let down here, pieces were small and breading/flavor missed the mark – soggy and not well seasoned. The stuffed aloo pie on the other hand was incredible! We got it with shrimp and would definitely be my go to order here!

They have 2 sauce/topping stations which is nice as it can get quite busy. While I wouldn’t say Richards holds the crown for the best b&s in maracas anymore, it’s definitely worth it to try the OG and their stuffed aloo pies are worth the visit alone!
