I will not return. This was my first experience at Sam’s and I would not return if someone else was paying the bill.
We ordered food at 7:09 and didn’t receive our food until 8:20. The food was terrible. Burger overcooked and cold.
Seafood was mediocre at best.

One employee was walking around with ear buds in his ears talking on the phone the entire time.

Another poor soul was eating alone and waited over an hour for his food as well.

Should have been a red flag when we talked in at 7 on Saturday and the place is empty.

This place is great. Very clean and refreshing atmosphere. Service is great and food comes out really fast. The food here is so good. Everything we got was cooked to perfection. The fried food was not overdone. The fish was very moist and tender. The shrimp were tender and not too chewy. The portions are good size too. I was amazed at how big the shrimp are that you get with your meals. The oyster po boy is one of my favorites. I ate here with 9 other guys and they were all full and happy when we left and we will definitely be back to try some more. Highly recommend.

We had the 22, which was to be fried and came grilled. No big issues with us, we aren’t too picky.
We had shrimp Alfredo, good flavor, nothing spectacular.
Fries were crisp and delightful, hushpuppy was good and you could taste the insides, verses just being a ball of rock or mush.
Was disappointed in the peach pie with ice cream. Not what I imagined, as I saw fresh cake slices on the counter.
The staff seemed overwhelmed, misplacing orders or confusing orders. Quite busy, probably due to lent, but I believe this place could be successful with a little bit more flair and a better attempt at customer service. We can hear multiple complaints about how long it has taken to receive food. We waited 30 minutes. Guy next to us was here before us and still didn’t have his food.
In summation, decent tasting food, not much else.

This place is soooo good me and my boyfriend ate here today, he got the shrimp w catfish and I got a chicken po boy. We got fried pickles and hush puppies. We ended up just sharing it all and it was amazing. I definitely recommend this place. Not only were the ladies super nice but the atmosphere was so comforting and clean. The music was lovely too. If you want a good spot to eat, go here.

I had the catfish, crab cakes, shrimp, with red beans and rice and green beans. The food was ok but what really made the experience good was the lady working the register. She was so friendly, funny and it was nice to talk to her.

I visited Sam’s Southern Eatery for the first time today and ordered two crab bags. Unfortunately, they were out of crawfish which we were informed of, but we were not told they were also out of crab until after we had paid $83.59 by card. Once we were seated, the manager came out and informed us that not only were they out of crab, but they also could not process a refund because they had no cash on hand and her manager code had been revoked, preventing her from issuing a card refund. She stated the only option was to receive a gift card instead.

During this time, another man entered visibly upset and used offensive language toward the manager, to which she responded verbally. The interaction was tense and unprofessional. It was also apparent that the manager may have been under the influence of alcohol, which raised concerns about the overall management of the restaurant.

To make matters worse, the manager placed blame on a young employee at the register, claiming he was unable to read the order properly. This deflection of responsibility was disappointing and unprofessional.

Overall, the experience was frustrating and left me questioning the accountability and professionalism of the staff. I’ve never encountered a situation where a restaurant was unable or unwilling to issue a proper refund, and it significantly impacted my view of the establishment.

Shrimp was great, fish sandwhich was great, rice and red beans were terrible, green beans were awful, and hush puppies were good. They use jalapeños in their hushpuppies, and they add a nice kick. Their tartar sauce is very good and unique.
I feel like the prices are… okay. This is really the only restaurant of its kind in the area, so they can have higher prices, but if there was competition, I think they’d be left in the dust.
I was sad not to see more soul food available on the menu. I would like to see greens, corn bread, and more sides available. Sides were TINY, and I don’t think any of them were good besides the hush puppies.
They have a separate table for to go orders, making it easy to order and pick up when busy.
Soda fountain drinks were gross. Maybe there was something wrong with their machine, but they were flat and stale tasting like they had been sitting out or something.
Seems like their beans just come from a can and get dumped in a bowl. Flavorless and no seasoning. Service was not great. You have to order and then seat yourself and clear your own table. For these prices, I feel like we deserve a little table side service.
No drive-thru
Or curb side pick up available
Spent $30 for a light lunch plus tip. Probably will not go again for a couple years.

Accessibility ♿️: parking was okay, but bathroom would be hard with a wheel chair. Tables are a good height.
Kid friendly: no. Not a hood menu or seating options for them. Not even a changing station in that bathroom.

Decided to try today for lunch, carry out, not too busy. Spent $35. Had chicken strips, fries, Philly fries, Cole claw, and a double burger… I will preface by saying if you eat here, the seafood is most likely decent. After waiting 30 minutes, and my drive is 5 minutes back to where I ate the food with others… not a single French fry was firm… basically cold, limp potato noodles. The burger patties were oblong, and dry meaning they are low quality frozen. The chicken breading had decent flavor but were also dry and kind of hard to bite through. Coleslaw was coleslaw… the Philly fries would have been the saving grace had the fries been cooked. Pretty disappointing overall experience but I will note the place is very clean, and the ladies at the front counter were a delight.

Ordered over $150 of food for pick next day. Waited over 30 minutes, didn’t get any of our sides. They called the owner up but we never saw him. The front staff were constantly yelling at the kitchen staff. Most unprofessional place I’ve ever been. The food we got was good but the experience was awful. With no compensation. Won’t be back.

I have to say, being from Texas I consider myself a good catfish expert. I’ve been to a variety of places and towns and have tried some good ones. I have to admit this is by far my second favorite place in the world. And the sides OMG the best we had the red beans and rice, they were the boom, and the green beans wow the best. Most definitely recommend you guys stop by and give them a try.
