Food was amazing. Fish was cooked perfect. Very moist and flakey which is how you want your catfish for nobody who has ever had it made correctly. Best hush puppies I’ve ever eaten. Shrimp are huge and so good. I absolutely love the homemade tarter sauce. Waitress was very sweet and timely. She explains what they were out of before we ordered and helped with the decision of what to get.

Food was overcooked. Was out of a lot of stuff. Hush puppies were dry and burnt. Crab cakes was over priced for imitation crab. Fish and chicken was bland. Was told I can’t get double fries that I have to get two different sides. Their “catfish” is not any catfish I have ever had. Server was good but they didn’t give her much to work with. There is nothing southern about any of their food. I would recommend not to go there. Friend gave a bad review on Facebook and is now blocked.

This was our first visit and we were very pleased.
All our food was cooked properly, served hot, fresh, and delicious.
We had:
Fried catfish – tender and flaky
Fried shrimp – huge and coating was lightly crisp and not too much
Fried oysters – NOT soggy and not too much breading
Hushpuppies – delicious
Coleslaw
Fried Shrimp Po Boy
Fries – lightly-crisp outside and tender inside

Neither of us could eat our entire meal and took home leftovers.
The place was clean and atmosphere is family friendly.

Food is amazing. Been to Sam’s a few times now and I love the authentic southern cuisine. I am glad they offer a non deep fried option for those who can not do all the fried food for health issues. The catfish is amazing, shrimp are huge and cooked to perfection, the red beans and rice is “Omg” soooo good, onion rings are real not the minced frozen junk most places serve. The owner/staff are very friendly and accommodating to patrons. Would definitely recommend Sam’s and will be a repeat customer.

First off I never complain and always give our local restaurants a fair chance but I’ll never go back to Sam’s southern eatery! My fiance and I dined in and ordered the fried pickels for an appetizer, the waitress brought them out and they we’re fried sweet pickels. No where on the menu did it list that these we’re sweet pickels and the waitress said they’re supposed to be dill but there was a mix up with the truck. I ordered 2 fish and 6 shrimp with hushpuppies and fries, my fiance ordered 3 chicken and 3 shrimp. My hushpuppies were raw batter in the center everything was cold, soggy and bland. The cocktail sauce tasted fermented. I took my check up to the manager which was going to be roughly $50 btw and I told him we couldn’t stomach his food and we’re not paying for it. He argued with me and asked if I go to restaurants to complain because the rest of his customers are eating the same food and not complaining. I told him this is my experience and your food is terrible. He wanted to check our table (I guess because he didn’t believe us and wanted to see if we ate it” he comes back and basically says I’ll do you a favor “you will pay nothing” I said thanks and took our leave. 0/10 would never recommend going there. What a shame.

Took a group of 8 to lunch at Sam’s…Amber was a delightful, friendly, attentive server…the fried green tomatoes, fried mushroom appetizers, and all of our meals were absolutely yummy! The owner checked on us and was very kind and welcoming! We departed with lots of leftovers, as the portions were huge! We recommend Sam’s highly!

The food was very good with decent sized portions.
Adding a greater variety of “Southern” favorites would bump this restaurant up to the next level and create a “Southern” food experience not otherwise offered in this area. (Cajun boiled peanuts for an appetizer, fried okra, fried green tomatoes, turnip or mustard greens w/cornbread, chicken fried steak w/ pepper gravy optional, loaded potatoes, black eyed peas, buttermilk biscuits, real bbq ribs, …etc.)
