Stopped in here for breakfast because I had an appointment in the area, and was so happy I did! My waitress was great, the food was fantastic! I got my food very fast, I had the breakfast special and the over medium eggs I ordered were cooked to perfection. Very fair prices for the portion size. Would eat here again if I’m in the area.

Sam’s Place is truly a gem in the neighborhood. The people here are absolutely wonderful, and the cook is outstanding every meal feels like it’s made with care. The waitresses treat you like family, which makes the whole experience warm and welcoming.
The food is nothing short of six-star Michelin quality, especially considering it’s a cozy little diner. This place has been part of the neighborhood for over 40 years, and it shows in the tradition, consistency, and pride they put into everything.
It’s more than just a restaurant it’s a wonderful environment where you feel at home every time you walk in. Highly recommended!

There is plenty of parking for this restaurant. You just walk into the restaurant and seat yourself. The waitress comes right to the table you choose and gets a drink for you. Your food gets to your table in quickly. The breakfast is great and reasonable priced. We will definitely return to this restaurant.

I’ve never strayed from the Porky Pig Omelette, and honestly, why would I? It’s cheap, delicious, and consistently perfect. My wife swears by the rice pudding, and she’s not wrong — it’s comfort in a cup.
The place is cozy, the prices are kind, and if you don’t grab a slice of cheesecake to go, you’ve made a grave mistake.

Sam’s place is a timeless diner. I can’t imagine a single change they’ve done since I’ve begun coming here as a child – in a positive sort of way. The staff here are very pleasant and the environment is very comfortable. As for the food, they cook with an open counter, like what you’d see at a waffle house, and it is your traditional dine fare. Pancakes, bacon, omelettes, sandwiches, soups – along those lines, they do it, and they do it well. I will always recommend the country omelette, as this is also what I had enjoyed for breakfast yesterday (09/08/2025). As a final note, my grandmother has brought me here for most of my life, and I’ve associated the experience a lot with her throughout the years. It always brings a smile on my face seeing the parking lot; it’s not flashy or brilliant, just cozy. I may have a little bit of bias, but this is one of my absolute favourite diners. I definitely recommend it.

Sam’s place has been a staple in Livonia for decades!! You can tell from the moment you walk in and you are greeted with huge smiles by the staff that the owners and staff take pride in ensuring the customers have a great experience. The place is always immaculately clean inside and the food is constantly fresh and decent portions thank you so much to both Patients and Vicky for always putting a smile on our face and working so hard to keep everyone happy!!

3rd visit: The Gyro was good and the fries were excellent. A good Chef’s salad, just wish they had blue cheese dressing.
Enjoyed the Polish combo and the Slim Jim was stacked with ham. Great local diner. Can’t wait to try breakfast.
