I have passed this place many times but never stopped as the line is hindered because as soon as you leave the window, you are waiting to pull out on Main St at a light so it’s very slow. Today there was no line so I tried a hot dog straight up (moc) with mild Chilli and and a hot dog all the way (moc with slaw). I was very disappointed. Neither chili had any seasoning and very little flavor. The hot dogs were luke warm at best and the buns were a tad hard either from exposure to air or too long in a steamer. The lady at the window acted like she didn’t want to be there.

The drive thru is sketchy and lands directly onto Main St. you can’t pull out until traffic moves. The hot dogs were good, the toppings were homogeneous. Like everything was thrown into a blender and poured onto the dog. Fries were crispy and tasty.

Drive thru only. Good hot dogs at a good price.

Boiled hot dogs… boiling them removes all the flavor… grill them… even pan fry them ans it brings the flavor out… thus would change eveything… good value for your money but they gotta have flavor…

One of the best food places in Salem. It’s cheap, quick, and probably the best hotdogs I have ever had. It gives sports game food stand, which I’m a huge fan of. I do think tho the location and parking suck. I almost missed the place because a truck was parked next to it. I do recommend dropping in at some point and giving it a shot.

Absolutely the best hot dogs i have ever had in my life! Too bad they are closed on Sunday. Prices are very cheap! They have combo meals. Spicy and non-spicy foods. BBQ sandwiches are very good. They take cash or card.. if you are a foodie i say GO! build your own dog or check out the menu. Drive through or walk up windows available.

Great hot dogs, but the spiced fries are the real star here!
Sam’s Hot Dogs of Salem offers hot dogs served with signature chili (mild or spicy) on steamed buns. They also serve pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, spiced French fries, chips, and cans of Coca-Cola products. Homemade coleslaw is also available as a topping, but I’m not a fan of it on my hot dogs. My favorite dog is simple – mustard, onions, and spicy chili with an extra bit of hot sauce. The menu is small, yet full of flavor.
This stand is often so popular that the drive thru line extends out to the street entrance! If only they were open a little later in the evening and not closed on Sundays!
Thanks so much for bringing the fries out of retirement! The management’s willingness to listen to customers’ criticism shows that they really do care.

Watched the lady that opened up late preparing my hot dogs with the same gloves on that she wore when she was putting the money in the register for the days business. I said that’s okay, I’m good. She denied it like I was seeing things!! Good luck!!

Over all very good. No out side seating but it was a pretty day and we ate in the parking lot

As others have shared, for now, this location is drive through only. We knew this before going.
Update: our hot dogs were barely warm & we could see them being made for us – if we had been closer to our house I would have heated them more. I know hot dogs are fully cooked so heating is personal preference.
