I was out in Tucson with my wife to pick up furniture. We were in the Catalina area looking for a Filiberto’s but came across this restaurant.

Had a warm welcome, friendly staff, and super clean! Menu is incredibly affordable.

I ordered my staple, Carne asada burrito, and my wife had the shrimp salad. Both were perfectly made to our palate. Highly recommended, keep up the excellent service!

I love Sammy’s ❤️. Best food and service. It is a small restaurant with a dining room and drive. thru. My husband and I go at least once a week and have never been disappointed.

The food here is really good! I always get the Sammy’s Burrito with cheese and two cheese enchiladas à la carte. It’s a little pricey, but it’s definitely worth it. This is the closest you’ll get to authentic Mexican food in Catalina.

Had the carne asada burrito and it wasn’t greasy and the meat wasn’t hard like most other places. Burgers looked delicious and the tacos are great. Added bonus law enforcement gets to eat free here and are have a bunch of trump stuff all over the walls. Next time im come through here im stopping to eat again

I live a stones throw from Sammy’s. I have been getting food here for as long as I can remember. Always fresh food with large quantities. The staff and owner are amazing and kind people. If you want some awesome food at a good price this is your spot.

If you want REAL Mexican food, this is not the spot. The whole place feels watered-down and completely out of touch with actual Mexican culture. The food has no flavor, no authenticity, and honestly feels like it was made to fit in with a certain crowd instead of representing real Mexican cooking.

The vibe inside didn’t feel welcoming at all — definitely not like the warm, family-based atmosphere you get in real Mexican restaurants. It felt more like they were trying to appeal to people who don’t even understand the culture. As someone who grew up with real Mexican food, this place was honestly disappointing and uncomfortable.

Nothing about this restaurant feels genuine, and the food is not worth the price. Save your money and go somewhere that respects the culture and actually puts flavor into their food.

During my recent visit to Arizona, I decided to stop by Sammy’s Mexican Grill, hoping to enjoy a flavorful and authentic meal. Unfortunately, what I experienced was far from that. The food lacked any real flavor, arriving at the table barely warm and tasting like it had been sitting out for a while. For a restaurant claiming to serve Mexican cuisine, the dishes were bland and uninspired.

While the staff was friendly and polite, the quality of the food completely overshadowed any positives. My meal was undercooked, making it not only unappetizing but also concerning from a food safety standpoint. It was clear there was little care put into preparation, and I left more disappointed than satisfied. The experience felt like a missed opportunity for what could have been a great local dining spot.

Overall, I regret stepping foot into Sammy’s Mexican Grill. Between the underwhelming food and the lackluster presentation, I can’t recommend this place to anyone looking for good Mexican food. There are plenty of other options in the area, and I strongly suggest finding somewhere else to eat.

I wish I could give this place zero stars but one should be fine. I’m on a road trip with friends and wanted some Mexican food. This place wasn’t out first pick but we ended up going since it was closer. Right off the bat I’ll just tell you the food was slimy and tasted at least a day or 2 old. I had to run to a Walmart bathroom because of this place. The staff were giving major ” I don’t care about guests vibes”. And the it shows in the food. DON’T SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE.
