I’d definitely go back
Oh
They still have big boy out front!
Over all good experience.
I went into the restaurant to visit a good friend, shout out to Anna! However, she wasn’t there and so I had a server named Laura! I’m so thankful to have been attended by her because she was so friendly, constantly kept a smile on her face, and she was very attentive. I was greeted by staff right away when I sat down, great teamwork! They did a wonderful job with pre-bussing our table.
I ordered the shrimp enchiladas, the shrimp was cut into bite-size pieces, which I am thankful for because I’ve been to other restaurants that the shrimp has been large and having to cut the shrimp was kind of a hassle, so thank you. The rice and beans tasted homemade, so delicious. The fajitas looked very tempting and I am looking forward to trying them next time. My daughter got the chicken tenders and fries, you can’t go wrong with that! There were also a wide variety of menu options for children and there is a special section in the menu for seniors.
They also have some delicious desserts. I had the extremely large slice of raspberry cheesecake, I was able to take the leftover home to enjoy later, it had a homemade touch but the brownie looked to die for as well, next time! My daughter had a cute but fancy little ice cream sunday, I loved the presentation. They have deserts on display when you walk in to the restaurant, the display was a little bit foggy and it didn’t do some of the deserts justice.
This restaurant is very spacious and there are a couple of areas that could use some decorations for filling in shelves, walls, etc.. Otherwise, this is one of the best cafe style restaurants I have been to in a long time and I love that the Bob’s Big Boy decorations are still there. There are still a couple of Bob’s Big Boys a couple of hours away from this location.
There salad bar was closed and the inside was just as Bob’s left it. Kinda nice.
Server very nice, ordered Chili size, French Dip, Pay Melt and a Quesadilla.
First, the menu is HUGE. General dinner fare and a complete Mexican selection. The chili size was ok 6/10. Canned beans mixed in with a basic sauce they seemed to make right then. Party was big, but tough. Patty Melt was same 6/10. Quesadilla was good, but very greasy. 6/10 Had to blot the grease off with napkins. Good sliced steak and cheese. Now for the French Dip. Usually, this is sliced roast beef with beef drippings to dip in. The meat looked to be similar to the bread in a can used for creamed cooked beef. Definitely just deli beef thrown in the flat top to brown a bit and slapped on the bun. Tasted rather funny. Only ate 1/2 of it. 3/10.
The star of the show was their fries. Those were GONE. JUST GOOD OLD FASHIONED DINER FRIES!!!
Overall rating is a 2 Star for me. When the menu is this big, they tend to do everything mediocre rather than having a scaled down menu and do things good consistently. Maybe the Mexican food and breakfast are their forte.
We’ve seen them open as we go up to our kids house in calimesa regularly and just figured we’d stop in tonight. I have never seen a huge crowd of cars in the parking lot and that seems to tell the tail I here.
Hoping they can make some adjustments, but for me it’s a one and done.
