Reviews
The service was even worse than the food. The server had a clear attitude problem and made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. Basic hospitality was completely lacking. We had to ask for water repeatedly, multiple times, before it was finally brought out, which should never be an issue at any restaurant. Even then, it felt like we were being ignored on purpose.
What made the experience especially uncomfortable was the clear difference in how customers were treated. In our experience, the staff appeared to prioritize Caucasian customers, giving them faster service, more attention, and a noticeably friendlier attitude, while we were dismissed and overlooked. Whether intentional or not, that is how it felt, and it left a very bad impression.
A restaurant should make all guests feel welcome and respected. Between the poor food quality, the dismissive and rude service, and the uncomfortable atmosphere, this place failed on every level. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food or decent customer service. There are far better options elsewhere that actually value their customers.
I ordered the Emperor Platter (Combination/Sampler that offers a great variety)
It comes in two course:
(1) Naan bread, Shirazi salad (light and fresh with a nice cucumber crunch), eggplant burani (very hardy/savory, spice rich), and yogurt (on the side/excluded for nondairy restrictions).
(2) Beef, chicken, and lamb (all well seasoned), stew, tomato, and a very sweet/savory rice (hints of cinnamon, topped with raisins, very balanced flavor profiles).
Seems to be a generous amount of food for the cost. Quaint.
The service was equally bad. Our server was unprofessional, unapproachable, and seemed annoyed any time we asked for something. We had to request water multiple times before it was finally brought out, which is basic service that shouldn’t require repeated reminders. Throughout the meal, we were largely ignored, even though the restaurant was not overly busy.
What stood out the most was the clear inconsistency in how customers were treated. Other guests appeared to receive prompt, friendly attention, while we were left waiting and overlooked. The contrast was noticeable enough to make the experience uncomfortable and frustrating.
Overall, this place lacks both quality and hospitality. Between the poor food, the inattentive service, and the overall feeling of being unwelcome, I won’t be returning. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you’re expecting a respectful and enjoyable dining experience.
The bread was a bit dry and flavorless and the Turkish coffees were just served in massive to-go cups. These are minor details, but worth noting if you’re considering adding these items to your order.
They might be due for a deep cleaning , but everything was tidy and certainly nothing felt gross. Atmosphere was pleasant.
Great location. Metered Street parking available or a quick walk from a metered lot.
We will definitely be visiting again!
