We have been coming to Samdan for many years and it continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Cresskill. The food is always consistently excellent — authentic Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine with wonderful flavor and quality ingredients.
The grilled meats are always perfectly prepared, the salads are fresh, and the warm bread is delicious. The new ownership has beautifully elevated the decor, creating a more modern and inviting atmosphere while preserving the warm spirit of the restaurant.
It’s wonderful to see such a long-standing neighborhood favorite continue to thrive. A great choice for anyone looking for authentic Mediterranean dining in the Cresskill area.

The food is solid. Hummus and Adan Kebab were the stars. Baba ghanoush and Lamb Kebab were also quite tasty. I thought the tzatziki was a bit mint forward for my liking (prefer the garlicky kind more) but it was good. Also loved the mixed pickles which is a nice balance to the richness of the other dishes.
Had lunch, but feels like more of a dinner restaurant. Would be a good place to host a reception. Prices for lunch could be more friendly but otherwise I would recommend.

An excellent dining experience. We had not visited Samdan in many years, since moving to the Jersey Shore. The decor had changed, but the food, the service and the atmosphere were still terrific. And our waiter Harun did a great job of spacing out our meal as we ordered lots of small plates as well as two main courses. Love this place.

The food is absolutely delicious — consistently flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly prepared with great care. Cleanliness, presentation, and overall atmosphere are all top-notch. Everything from the food to the service reflects a high standard that rarely changes — and that consistency is what truly sets this place apart.

Samdan was renovated, it seemed to have a new ownership. They did not offer the delicious Turkish bread or pita, we had to ask for the pita, which they had. The Sheppard salad was not as good as it used to be, didn’t have much flavor, the main dishes were delicious and plenty of food. We had to return our dessert because it was stale and this was replaced by baklava. The service was just awful and surprising because it was on a Wednesday and the restaurant was quite empty. We had to ask waiter many times for water, ice, bread…

We went for lunch and they have a lunch menu. It doesn’t include dessert but good price and nice size. The service was good and desserts too. For lunch it was quite crowded. Best to make reservations.

We went to this restaurant to spend quality family time and eat amazing food. We were impressed by the ambiance and the quality of the food. There was soft music in the background which was pleasant. The food was healthy, easy on stomach. The portion sizes were great too. We ordered three delicious dips. We ordered chicken, lamb and falafel dishes. They all were tasty. We also ordered kunefe as dessert. Since the portion size is big we ordered one for the table and even had left over.

The food is fantastic and the portions are generous. The owner and chef are outstanding, this is a great establishment. My only suggestion is that the servers pay more attention to the customers, such as water refill, wine refill, desert offering. Again, a great place with great food, just needs a boost in the service area.
