Iconic Knoxville establishment practicing their craft since 1946. If you want a truly local experience in Knoxville this is the place to go. Delicious Vol burgers, chicken Parm spaghetti onion rings all so delicious. I’ve been coming in here for 40 years and I don’t think anything’s changed including the people working here. This is my dad’s favorite lunch spot and he loves to take us when we are in town. I personally think the Club is the best – traditional triangles and somehow the tomatoes are always perfection. The deli sandwiches are steamed and fantastic. The Vol burger is huge. My dad usually gets the daily special and is never disappointed, even though he eats there multiple times a week.
The owner has the craziest brain – he remembers everyone who comes in, can track orders even when it is packed, and adds up your food at the end with ease. And he’s truly kind!
This is not a fancy place. It’s not warm and fuzzy. It’s like the soup guy from Seinfeld meets southern small town deli. My kids will choose to go there over anywhere else in town.
Oh and the ice is incredible. Seriously.

I had the BLT, French fries, and a coke. The BLT was delicious! The tomatoes were tasty and the bacon was made just right! The French fries were great. I the service was amazing and the atmosphere was really cool with plenty of room to sit and eat. The BLT is highly recommended! This restaurant gets my highest score because of the great food and excellent service! I will definitely be back! 110 A+

We are new to town and heard about Sam and Andy’s and finally made it for lunch today. We got there around 1:30 and it was still pretty full, but easy to find a table and a parking place.
Based on the reviews, we both got Vol Burger specials, and they did not disappoint. The Reuben looks good, but I think 90% of the folks there were eating burgers.
The atmosphere is great and reminded us of one of our favorite oyster bars down in Port St. Joe Florida, right down to the honor system for check-out and self-service for drinks. Glad to have discovered this little gem, and we’ll be back!

Absolutely phenomenal place. Food is always amazing and the staff are so welcoming and so funny!! Sam & Andy’s has been a family favorite for years! Every time I’m back in town, it’s on the list of need-to-go’s. Don’t know what to order? Try the roast beef & smoked cheddar on dark with mayo and mustard. The beef is so juicy!

This location became a meeting point for me and one of my brothers from the Marine Corps. I found myself all the way across the country and my friend just happened to move to Knoxville not too long ago and picked this spot to meet. Found this place to be very charming. Food was great and the service was fantastic, very intentive crew. You can tell that the community really likes this place because it seems like the same people come in here all the time everyone seems to know everybody which is a nice thing to see especially me being from a larger City. If I find myself back in Knoxville and I hope I do I will definitely come back to this place and try out more of their menu items, if you find yourself in Knoxville please give this place a try

I have lived in Knoxville for 8 years now. I can’t believe I I just found this place. This little dinner is Best kept secret.
From the atmosphere in the friendly staff members I can’t believe this place doesn’t have a line around the door. Truly a family diner because they know almost everybody walking on the door.
They’re known for their cheeseburgers but I decided to get a rib eye sandwich made to order. So big I have to take half of it with me. Best thing I tasted in a long time so good. My daughter had chicken fingers and they were just as good as the ribeye.
When my daughter was done with her dinner the manager or owner I’m not sure gave my daughter a candy bar. This is truly my new favorite place.

This place is delicious! Classic american fare with a “you can’t make it at home taste”.
We ordered the Vols special (cheeseburger with fries). The food cane so quickly and was just the right flavor.
Plenty of seating in the restaurant and it has a self serve drink station. When in Knoxville stop here and enjoy a classic meal.
